My name is Chris and I am the . When I came to Hive I was trying to find a community that I could post my scrapping videos to and was guided to
. It was great. Not that there were a ton of other scrappers or anything, I couldn't find one, but there was a group of people that were trying to do their part to help the planet.
Then Alex left to pursue his life. Good for him, I say.
So I started struggling again. It was suggested by several people that I start my own community for scrappers and at the time I didn't even want to think about it but as I got thinking about what they were saying, it started to make sense.
I was looking at it like I needed to have a huge stake and a means to incentivize people to want to scrap and salvage things. I thought I had to have a dev that would automate things like curation but they were saying "Just start the community and post to it."
That felt kind of lonely but I kept thinking about it and figured I might as well. There might be someone like me that gets here and figures there are no communities so they don't bother doing anything and just move on to Reddit or wherever. That's worse than feeling lonely, IMO.
So here we are. I will use this account to build and reward the members who post to the community about scrap, salvage, etc. Because I don't have much stake yet, I will be using ecency points to try and boost the quality posts that come in.
I personally like videos and step by step photo posts but I also like creativity so you do you. Everything will be manually curated by me until we have more interest and members that want to get more involved. I'm hoping that will join because he does amazing things with the "trash" around him. Go check out his posts for some inspiration. I'm sure there are others as well but we need to find them first.
So there you go. If you want to learn more about scrapping and how you can help the enviroment while putting a few bucks, pounds, or pesos in your pocket, leave a comment. Even if you just know someone who is into it but not on Hive you could show them some posts from the community and maybe they would see that they can hang with likeminded people and earn a bit of crypto for their time. Make sure you emphasize the "bit of crypto" part. We don't want people shooting up the place when they don't get rich in a week.
Take care, my scrappy friends and remember, it's all weight in the bucket.
