Hola, ha llegado el momento de mi participación. Al conocer que el objetivo del segundo reto de Hive's Top Model se trataba de los "recursos naturales" hice una introspección de mi vida, de mis valores, mi conexión con la madre tierra y mis compromisos para poder presentarme ante ustedes.
Hi, it is time for me to join. Knowing that the goal of the second Hives Top Model challenge was about "natural resources" I made an introspection of my life, my values, my connection to mother earth, and my commitments.

Tal vez van a encontrar que me estoy expresando de una manera que pueda parecerles algo técnica o profunda pero es importante que sepan que debido a mi formación, todo el tema del aprovechamiento de recursos naturales y la energía ya es un conocimiento incorporado de forma intrínseca en mi vida, si quieren comprobarlo pueden invitarme a conversar al respecto en cualquier momento y por cualquier vía y verán que no necesito proporcionarles una referencia, la referencia es toda una carrera. Pero realmente, la única importancia de hacer este comentario es que este reto resultó una deconstrucción de mi misma para llegar a manifestarme a través de un maquillaje.
Maybe you will find that I am expressing myself in a way that may seem somewhat technical or profound, but you need to know that due to my background, the whole issue of the use of natural resources and energy is already an intrinsically incorporated knowledge in my life, if you want to check it you can invite me to talk about it at any time and by any means, and you will see that I do not need to provide you with a reference, the reference is a whole career. But really, the only importance of making this comment is that this challenge resulted in a deconstruction of myself to manifest myself through make-up.
Las diversas formas como los seres humanos generamos la energía eléctrica para la vida en comodidad, la vida que muchos de nosotros conoce, es la fuente de inspiración de esta creación de maquillaje artístico que les presento para mí participación en este concurso.
The various ways in which human beings generate the electrical energy for life in comfort, the life that many of us know, is the source of inspiration for this artistic make-up creation that I present to you for my participation in this contest.
Deconstrucción de mi misma / Deconstructing myself
El concepto cobra su fuerza al recordar que de pequeña pasaba mis vacaciones en el pueblo donde vivía mi abuela. Es un pueblo petrolero, su nombre es Mene Grande, mi abuela me contó que la palabra mene es la forma como los indígenas llamaban a esa sustancia negra que brotaba de los suelos, que tenía fines muy útiles y que hoy conocemos como petróleo y que está en casi todas las cosas que necesitamos en la vida moderna.
Pero fue hasta que estaba en el último año de bachillerato que me interesé en la energía, porque tuve la oportunidad de visitar la central hidroeléctrica de Guri que provee la mayor parte de la energía eléctrica de mi país, Venezuela.
The concept gains its strength when I remember that as a child I used to spend my holidays in the village where my grandmother lived. It is an oil town, its name is Mene Grande, my grandmother told me that the word mene is what the indigenous people called that black substance that came out of the ground, that had very useful purposes and that today we know as petroleum and that is in almost everything we need in modern life.
But it wasn't until I was in my last year of high school that I became interested in energy, because I had the opportunity to visit the Guri hydroelectric plant that provides most of the electricity in my country, Venezuela.
Entender el proceso de generación de la energía eléctrica y todas las transformaciones que esta sufre me maravilló hasta el punto de estudiar ingeniería mecánica, porque para mí la ingeniería mecánica es fundamentalmente transformación de energía. Entonces pude conocer las leyes fundamentales de la física y la termodinámica y comprendí que todo es energía.
Understanding the process of generating electrical energy and all the transformations it undergoes amazed me to the point of studying mechanical engineering because for me mechanical engineering is fundamentally the transformation of energy. Then I got to know the fundamental laws of physics and thermodynamics and I understood that everything is energy.
Agradezco el hecho de habitar un planeta tan rico y diverso que nos proporciona regalos y tesoros y específicamente un pueblito en un país petrolero donde era habitual ver pozos petroleros cercanos y mechurios para quemar gas desechado de la extracción de petróleo en los patios de las casas, es decir, conocer la cultura petrolera desde adentro. Subiendo el cerro la estrella, de tierra seca y agrietada podía visitar el pozo petrolero más antiguo que aún produce petróleo, el Pozo Zumaque que tiene más de 100 años.
I am grateful to inhabit such a rich and diverse planet that provides us with gifts and treasures and specifically a small town in an oil country where it was common to see oil wells nearby and mechurios to burn waste gas from oil extraction in the backyards of the houses, that is, to know the oil culture from the inside. Climbing the dry and cracked earth of the Cerro la Estrella, I could visit the oldest oil well that still produces oil, the Pozo Zumaque, which is more than 100 years old.
Por el alto nivel contaminante del petróleo me propuse estudiar sobre el sol como fuente de energía, para lo que también es útil el recurso del viento y el poder de energía que yace en el núcleo de la tierra y por supuesto, mi favorita la energía hidroeléctrica, al transformar la energía potencial de la caída de agua en energía mecánica y luego esta se transforma en energía eléctrica para llegar a nuestros hogares.
Because of the high level of oil pollution, I decided to study the sun as a source of energy, the wind as a resource, the power of the Earth's core as a source of energy and, of course, my favourite, hydropower, which converts the potential energy of falling water into mechanical energy and then into electrical energy to reach our homes.
Este tema es parte de mi vida así que no dudé ni un momento al conocer el reto de participar con esta visión.
De hecho me gusta tanto, pero a la vez me preocupa y por eso el año pasado complementé la rama de la ingeniería que escogí y me gradué de magister, precisamente en ecología del desarrollo humano, buscando como constribuir al equilibrio que debe existir entre desarrollo y preservación.
This topic is part of my life so I didn't hesitate for a moment when I heard about the challenge to participate in this vision.
I like it so much, but at the same time it worries me and that is why last year I complimented the branch of engineering that I chose and graduated as a master, precisely in the ecology of human development, looking for how to contribute to the balance that must exist between development and preservation.
⚡️La generación de energía eléctrica cómo proyecto de maquillaje / The generation of electrical energy as a make-up project⚡️
En la deconstrucción de mi persona surgió la necesidad de aceptación, porque siempre he estado inconforme con la salud de mi piel, o mejor dicho con la apariencia por las cicatrices que el acné dejó en mi, así que lo más difícil de hacer este reto fue aceptar que mi piel podía ser trabajada con un maquillaje de este tipo, eso fué muy dificil para mi porque pensé que no podía quedar bonita.
In the deconstruction of my person, the need for acceptance arose because I have always been unhappy with the health of my skin, or rather with the appearance due to the scars that acne left on me, so the hardest part of this challenge was to accept that my skin could be worked with this type of make-up, which was very difficult for me because I thought that I could not look pretty.
Tengo una compañera que recientemente nos ofreció un taller de automaquillaje, su nombre es María de los Ángeles Camargo, le propuse a esta artista del maquillaje conocida en sus redes como Mar by Mariangel, que comprendiera mi idea y se hiciera participe de ella al proyectarla en mi piel a través del maquillaje artístico.
I have a colleague who recently offered us an automatic make-up workshop, her name is María de Los Ángeles Camargo, I proposed to this make-up artist known in her networks as Mar by Mariangel, to understand my idea and to participate in it by projecting it on my skin through artistic make-up.
Tuvimos una buena química, ella se identificó perfectamente con lo que deseaba transmitir y emprendimos este proyecto juntas.
We had good chemistry, she identified perfectly with what I wanted to transmit and we undertook this project together.
Deconstruyendo / Deconstructing
No imaginan mi emoción cuando logramos plasmar en el boceto las diferentes formas de generación de energía eléctrica, estuve segura de que se mostraría en mi piel lo radiante del sol, la riqueza de la tierra de dónde emergen las gotas de petróleo, el potencial cinético del agua y la fuerza del viento.
You can't imagine my excitement when we managed to capture in the sketch the different ways of generating electrical energy, I was sure that the radiance of the sun, the richness of the earth from which the drops of oil emerge, the kinetic potential of water and the strength of the wind would be shown on my skin.
Decidimos que usaría unos zarcillos rojos de fibras naturales para que el calor del núcleo terrestre estuviera presente y un top en algún color tierra para que representará el mismo planeta que lo contiene todo.
We decided that I would wear red tendrils of natural fibers so that the warmth of the earth's core would be present and a top in some earthy color to represent the very planet that contains it all.
Unos párrafos mas arriba les comenté que abordar este tema me llevó a una deconstrucción de mi misma, bueno, en ese proceso siento que obtuve de mi una representación de que Yo soy una con la tierra por eso el color escogido para el top, y encontré este swetter, su textura y su calidez me pareció perfecta porque me resguarda y me proteje como el planeta a mi y a todos nosotros. Tenía disponible la prenda perfecta sin prestar mucha atención a cómo me quedara porque para mí representa todo lo explicado y por eso lo usé.
A few paragraphs above I told you that addressing this topic led me to a deconstruction of myself, well, in that process I feel that I got from me a representation that I am one with the earth that's why the color chosen for the top, and I found this sweater, its texture, and warmth seemed perfect because it shelters and protects me like the planet protects me and all of us. I had the perfect garment available without paying much attention to how it fit me because for me it represents everything explained and that's why I wore it.
En cuanto al estilismo, debía estar presente alguna trenza que simbolizaría la conexión de mi corazón con la madre tierra y mi compromiso de protegerla y obtener lo mejor de ella con los mejores propósitos, ése es el sentido d ela trenza y así las llevo en el centro y al frente, dos pequeñas trenzas que se unen en la coronilla de mi cabeza donde llega el final.
As for the styling, there had to be some braid that would symbolize my heart's connection with mother earth and my commitment to protect her and get the best out of her for the best purposes, that is the meaning of the braid and so I wear them in the center and the front, two small braids that join at the crown of my head where the end comes.
El resultado lo pueden ver ahora en mi participación, tal como lo imaginamos, de verdad estoy muy contenta de que este reto haya puesto en mis manos la posibilidad de representar artísticamente el simbolismo de la transformación de la energía en el que se aprovechan todos estos recursos naturales en beneficio de la humanidad, solo falta garantizar que todos y cada uno de los seres humanos pudiera tener acceso a la electricidad de forma segura.
The result you can see now in my participation is just as we imagined it, I am very happy that this challenge has put in my hands the possibility to artistically represent the symbolism of the transformation of energy in which all these natural resources are used for the benefit of humanity, it only remains to ensure that each human being could safely have access to electricity.
On boarding en Make up / On boarding en Makeup
Durante gran parte del proceso de Make-Up estuvimos conversando haciendo un verdadero on boarding de Hive para Mariangel, asi que considero que está invitación es una de las contribuciones más grandes que deja este trabajo que hicimos y espero que muy pronto vean su arte en su blog en Hive. El trabajo de maquillaje tuvo una duración de más de 4 horas así que en ese tiempo espero haber sido efectiva en mi misión de traer a Hive una creadora exitosa de gran valor.
During a big part of the Make Up process we were talking about doing a real onboarding of Hive for Mariangel, so I consider this invitation as one of the greatest contributions of this work we did and I hope that very soon you will see her art in her blog in Hive. The make-up job lasted over 4 hours so in that time I hope I have been effective in my mission to bring to Hive a successful creator of great value.
Seguidamente la sesión de fotos se desarrolló con la misma química, afortunadamente los conocimientos de Mariangel me orientaron para desenvolverme mejor y obtener tomas inspiradoras.
The photo shoot followed with the same chemistry, fortunately, Mariangel's knowledge guided me to perform better and get inspiring shots.
Para finalizar mi participación en este segundo reto del concurso Hive's Top Model quiero dar las gracias a las organizadoras por el simple hecho de haber escogido la temática de este mes y haber propuesto esta actividad que me permitió explorar dentro de mi y dar a conocer en nuestra amada cadena ese tema que tanto me apasiona y del cual me siento muy contenta de haberles compartido con toda la naturalidad del mundo y gran facilidad lo que significa para mi y espero que a todos los que visitan la comunidad Hive's Red Carpet les haya gustado.
To conclude my participation in this second challenge of the Hive's Top Model contest I would like to thank the organizers for the simple fact of having chosen this month's theme and for having proposed this activity that allowed me to explore within myself and to make known in our beloved network this theme that I am so passionate about and about which I feel very happy to have shared with all the naturalness of the world and with great ease what it means to me and, I hope, to all those who visit the Hive's Red Carpet community liked it.
