New York Fashion Week 2023, The Brit Awards, and the Goya Awards, gave us a lot to cut last weekend. Here are my impressions of the best looks.
La New York Fashion Week 2023, Los Brit Awards y los Premios Goya, nos dieron mucha tela que cortar el pasado fin de semana. Aquí mis impresiones de los mejores looks.
This weekend was very productive for me. While I was resting (since I finally had a Saturday off), events of different kinds were happening or were about to happen. What I was most looking forward to was Rihanna's return to the stage, to be more specifically her halftime show at the Super Bowl. This fashion icon was coming back to give me all the life I needed.
But, on the fashionista theme, many things were happening at the same time. First of all, from February 10 to 15, New York Fashion Week will be taking place. Many brands will be presenting their previews of the fall-winter 2023/2024 collections. Rodarte, Carolina Herrera, Gabriela Hearst and Altuzarra are some of the brands participating in the New York Fashion Week 2023. Of course, a list of stars had to make an appearance on the front row, giving us a lot of fabric to cut.
Here I bring you a review of my favorite looks so far this week. Christian Siriano, who in the last few days has been the talk of the town for recreating the looks from Clueless for a commercial in which Alicia Silverstone herself participated, presented his collection during fashion week. And Lindsay Lohan was the special guest. With a beautiful brown satin suit, she stole the attention of all the cameras present. She overshadowed the Project Runway winner's runway show, which was dominated by Black & White, and yellow. A queen if you ask me.
Brooke Shields has also said present at the fashion week, wearing a pristine white suit and sunglasses that made her look sophisticated. Emily Ratajkowski arrived at the Jonathan Simkhai show, wearing a boxy blazer and sole boots as she walked the designer's runway for the first time. And well, I think I've run out of time, but there are other events I want to comment on.
Este fin de semana fue muy productivo para mí. Mientras descansaba (ya que tuve por fin un sábado libre), estaban pasando o estaban por pasar eventos de distinta índole. Lo que más expectativas me daba era el regreso de Rihanna a los escenarios, para ser más específicos su show en el medio tiempo del Super Bawl. Esté icono de la moda, volvía para darme toda la vida que necesitaba.
Pero, en el tema fashionista muchas cosas estaban ocurriendo al mismo tiempo. En primer lugar, del 10 al 15 de febrero, se estará celebrando la semana de la moda de Nueva York. Muchas firmas estarán presentando sus adelantos de las colecciones otoño – invierno 2023/2024. Rodarte, Carolina Herrera, Gabriela Hearst o Altuzarra, son algunas de las firmas que participan en el New York Fashion Week 2023 y por supuesto una lista de estrellas tenía que hacer acto de presencia en el front row, dándonos mucha tela que cortar.
Aquí les traigo un repaso de mis looks favoritos de lo que va de la semana. Christian Siriano que en los últimos días ha dado mucho de qué hablar al recrear los looks de Clueless para un comercial en el que la propia Alicia Silverstone ha participado, ha presentado su colección aprovechando la semana de la moda. Y Lindsay Lohan, ha sido la invitada especial. Con un bellísimo traje satinado color marrón, ha robado las miradas de todas las cámaras presentes. Definitivamente, opacó el desfile del ganador de Project Runway, en el cual predominó el Black & White y el amarillo. Una reina si me lo preguntas.
Brooke Shields también ha dicho presente en la semana de la moda, llevando consigo un impoluto traje blanco y unas gafas de sol que la hacían ver sofisticada. Emily Ratajkowski llegó al desfile de Jonathan Simkhai, con un blazer cuadrado y unas botas de suela con el que desfiló la pasarela del diseñador por primera vez. Y bueno, creo que me he quedado corto, pero existen otros eventos que quiero comentar.

Above all, the catwalk of the most important British Music Awards, the Brit Awards. And this Sunday these awards took place and I could not fail to comment on these looks. Starting with my favorite white privileged favorite, Harry Styles, who showed up on the red carpet wearing a suede suit by Nina Ricci, which was one of the most talked about of the night. Completely in black and with a black rose that made him look like the lost son of Edgar Allan Poe, Harry gave me a million years of life with this outfit.
Another one who shined was Lizzo in a dress that looked like a garbage bag, but she adorned it with a golden aura. Her styling was on point and her silhouette I think was one of the slimmest I've ever seen. Charlie XCX opted to wear transparencies in a top that she combined with her loose hair. Salma Hayek dazzled in a sheer corset and a beautiful leather skirt by Alexander McQueen complemented with Saint Laurent booties. For me, her look was pure gold. But the one who took the criticism, the mockery, and the praise was Sam Smith. Once again Adele's double.
The Briton is still talking about, this time with an inflated latex suit whose proportions were of slow death. Surrealism was present, like a caricature. And the fact is that Sam has been rebuked in recent days for his too-queer looks or his weight gain, even for his presentations. People should be happy and let others be happy. I love Sam and I like what he is doing, he is enjoying himself, periodt.
Sobre todo, la pasarela de los premios más importantes de la Música británica, los Brit Awards. Y es que este domingo se llevaron a cabo estos premios y no podía dejar de comentar estos looks. Comenzando con mi blanco privilegiado favorito, Harry Styles, que se presentó en la red carpet luciendo un traje de gamuza de Nina Ricci, que fue uno de los más comentados de la noche. Completamente de negro y con una rosa negra que lo hacía ver como el hijo perdido Edgar Allan Poe, Harry me dio un millón de años de vida con este outfit.
Otra que brilló fue Lizzo con un vestido que parecía una bolsa de basura, pero que adornó con un aura dorada. Su estilismo estuvo on point y su silueta creo que de las más estilizadas que le he visto. Charlie XCX optó por usar transparencias en un top que combinó con su cabello suelto. Salma Hayek deslumbró con un corsé transparente y una falda de cuero bellísima de Alexander McQueen que complementó con unos botines de Saint Laurent. Para mí su look fue oro puro. Pero quien se llevó las críticas, las burlas y los elogios fue Sam Smith. De nuevo el doble de Adele.
Sigue dando de hablar el británico, esta vez con un traje de látex inflado cuyas proporciones estaban de muerte lenta. El surrealismo se hizo presente, como una caricatura. Y es que Sam ha sido criticado duramente los últimos días por sus looks demasiado queer o su aumento de peso, hasta por sus presentaciones. La gente debería ser feliz y dejar ser felices a los demás. Me encanta Sam y me gusta lo que está haciendo, él se lo está disfrutando, period.

Last but not least, we have the blue carpet of the Goya awards. For those who don't know, the Goya awards are the equivalent of the Oscars, but Spanish. And I love Spain man, that's why I wanted to give coverage to the best looks I saw walking around. Penelope Cruz also chose a black dress that was custom-made for her by Dolce & Gabbana. She matched it perfectly with a shoulder-length veil, which made her look like a wonderful black widow.
Maria Pedraza, who can no longer stand another role of a teenager, opted for an Alexandre Vauthier haute couture, which made me dream. One of my favorite looks of the night, which she wore with a dreamy style. Valentina Zenere who looked like a Greek goddess in sky blue captivated me with Givenchy and Bvlgari rhinestones, beautiful. The Javis who are always on the trend came in black, just like Álvaro Cervantes who looked dreamy in a beautiful shirt and a black corduroy suit. He is my boyfriend, but he doesn't know it.
Milena Smit chose a Saint Laurent tuxedo that matched with an androgynous and quite dark style. One of the best dressed of the night along with other luminaries such as Amaia Salamanca, Miguel Herrán, Elena S. Sánchez, and María León, among others. One of the most outstanding looks was that of Eduardo Casanova, who wore an Obegero, which has always brought sensationalism with a super risky suit, with neck and shoulders uncovered with jewels and diamonds that matched with delicate gloves with transparencies.
Por último, pero no menos importante, tenemos la alfombra azul de los premios Goya. Para los que no saben, los premios Goya son el equivalente al Óscar, pero españoles. Y me encanta España tío, por eso quise darle cobertura a los mejores looks que vi en caminando por ahí. Penélope Cruz también escogió un vestido negro que le hizo a la medida Dolce & Gabbana. Lo ha combinado a la perfección un velo que llevaba a la altura de los hombros, que la hacía ver tal cual una viuda negra maravillosa.
María Pedraza, que ya no aguanta otro papel de adolescente, se decantó con un Alexandre Vauthier haute couture, que me hizo soñar. Uno de mis looks favoritos de la noche, qué lucio con un estilismo soñado. Valentina Zenere que parecía una diosa griega en un azul celeste me cautivó con un Givenchy y la pedrería de Bvlgari, bellísima. Los Javis que siempre están en tendencia llegaron de negro, igual que Álvaro Cervantes que estaba de ensueño con una camisa bellísima y un traje de pana negro. Él es mi novio, pero no lo sabe.
Milena Smit escogió un esmoquin Saint Laurent que hacía juego con un estilismo andrógino y bastante dark. De las mejores vestidas de la noche junto a otras luminarias como, Amaia Salamanca, Miguel Herrán, Elena S. Sánchez, María León, entre otros. Uno de los Looks más destacados fue el de Eduardo Casanova, que lució un Obegero, que como siempre aportó sensacionalismo con un traje súper arriesgado, con el cuello y los hombros descubiertos con las joyas y diamantes que hacían juego con unos delicados guantes con transparencies.
