[ESP] | [ENG] - Mis primeros pasos en la Ilustración de Moda

Hola, fashionistas. Hacía bastante tiempo que no me reportaba por esta comunidad, pero desde la última vez que lo hice han pasado cosas interesantes y por eso he venido a actualizarte un poco.

Pues bien, te pondré en contexto y te contaré algo que no he contado tan abiertamente. Siempre me ha gustado la moda y me ha parecido interesante esto de combinar prendas para lograr outfits llamativos y diferentes porque como siempre he dicho: la moda es también un medio de expresión y puede reflejar en gran medida tu personalidad. Después de haber participado en el HTM la Maryed Fashionista volvió a hacer acto de presencia y digamos que aquí tomé un impulso para aventurarme en este mundo...claro, motivada también por el hecho de querer hacer mis propias prendas adaptadas a mi estilo y personalidad porque, para serte sincera, la ropa que veo en muchas de las tiendas de los centros comerciales de mi país no es que se adapte demasiado a mi estilo.

Hello, fashionistas. It's been quite a while since I last posted in this community, but since the last time I did, some interesting things have happened, so I'm here to give you a little update.

Well, I'll give you some context and tell you something I haven't shared so openly before. I've always loved fashion and found it interesting to combine garments to create eye-catching and unique outfits because, as I've always said, fashion is also a means of expression and can greatly reflect your personality. After participating in HTM, the Maryed Fashionista made a comeback, and let's just say that this gave me the push I needed to venture into this world... Of course, I was also motivated by the fact that I wanted to make my own clothes tailored to my style and personality because, to be honest, the clothes I see in many of the stores in my country's shopping malls don't really suit my style.

El primer paso lo dí a finales de 2024 cuando me inscribí en un curso de costura básico, de hecho, en este post conté un poco sobre mi experiencia. El segundo gran paso lo dí más o menos a mediados de 2025 cuando logré comprar mi primera máquina de coser. Fue, sin duda, una oportunidad que no pude desaprovechar y una de los mejores regalos que me pude dar el año pasado. Mi idea durante el 2025 era continuar practicando y haciendo algunos que otros cursos que me aportaran conocimientos claves, pero lamentablemente mi progreso se paralizó un poco hasta finales de año cuando inicié un nuevo curso pero enfocado en otro ámbito: Ilustración de Modas.

Verás, durante el año pasado aprendí mucho sobre técnicas de pintura y dibujo que claramente puse en práctica. Y como si el Universo me estuviese enviando un mensaje, un día se me atrevesó la oportunidad de hacer este curso..así, sin más. Lo estuve meditando un poco y la conclusión a la que llegué fue: "bueno, si quiero diseñar, al menos tengo que saber esbozar un figurín decentemente" y luego de eso, aquí estamos, tratando de dibujar decentemente los rostros y las poses 3/4. Quise compartir parte de estos primeros trazos como un recordatorio de que nunca es tarde para empezar. Aún me falta un montón de práctica, pero ahí voy poco a poco hasta lograr un figurín decente así que pronto te estaré actualizando sobre mis avances.

I took the first step at the end of 2024 when I enrolled in a basic sewing course. In fact, [in this post] (@maryed/mi-experiencia-en-el-curso-basico-de-costura-oror-my-experience-in-the-basic-sewing-course), I shared a little about my experience. I took the second big step around mid-2025 when I managed to buy my first sewing machine. It was undoubtedly an opportunity I couldn't pass up and one of the best gifts I could have given myself last year. My idea during 2025 was to continue practicing and taking a few other courses that would provide me with key knowledge, but unfortunately, my progress stalled a bit until the end of the year when I started a new course but focused on another area: Fashion Illustration.

You see, over the past year I learned a lot about painting and drawing techniques, which I clearly put into practice. And as if the universe were sending me a message, one day the opportunity to take this course came my way... just like that. I thought about it for a while and came to the conclusion that, “well, if I want to design, I at least have to know how to sketch a decent figure,” and now here we are, trying to draw decent faces and 3/4 poses. I wanted to share some of these first sketches as a reminder that it's never too late to start. I still have a lot of practice to do, but I'm slowly getting there until I can draw a decent fashion sketch, so I'll be updating you on my progress soon.
