Race #2 - Sixteen Mile Pump Track, Oakville, Ontario, Canada
This is the second event of the series that my co-hosts and I are putting on this year. We have completed 3 of them and have 3 more to go before the end of the season. The next event will be closer to me, near the Niagara Falls area at Lincoln Skate Park for race #4 on July 13th! We had 16 skaters show up on this gorgeous day... until it torrentially downpoured on us and hailed, but more on that later.
The chill station, equipped with a megaphone and Timbits. We took over the pump track for a few hours, but still managed not to scare away all the children!
Cool shot of my choice of tool for the job
Thought this shot of me was the best from this event. Can't see it, but I'm riding a magic carpet. When your photographer homie says this is the spot, you go fast before the rain comes. Look at the storm brewing behind us.
It even has a dog park! This spot is incredible!
So many kids learning to ride bikes/scooters to mob through, it was organized chaos
John does not mess around. This guy is a machine
The Comet Cruiser was being used for our mystery challenge, and the fastest lap on it scores bonus points! Watch out for that child!! Fuck there really has to be a better place to learn to ride a bike hahaha
This picture is so funny to me. Another kid with literally NO PEDALS just vibing. What are the parents thinking?? LOL
GIANT BOWL! Greg has no fear and dropped in with great success alongside Brenderson (not me!)
Also, the skate park you can see just behind the bowl here is absolutely pristine. So smooth and new. Any skatehivers looking to skate and explore Canada, come make a stop. We have a huge number of parks and pump tracks popping up. Skateboarding is alive and well!
High fives!
Andre is last year's fastest skater, and he does not mess around. This guy cleans up speed tests and is already in 4th place for the series after missing RIM Park. I am going to be fighting with him hard to keep the lead and close out the next 3 races of the series.
And then came the rain. Apparently I shrug my shoulders when it starts getting sloppy.
This session was HUGE! We had the most skaters out of all the events so far, and it was honestly such a great day, despite having to cut it short because we got rained out. Stay tuned as there is more to come!
Shout-out COMET/Riptide/Longboard Living for the prizes!
And big thanks to the homies for capturing some media since I was really busy timing laps for everyone. It got a bit overwhelming when 15 people wanted their laps counted for the series.
If anyone is looking for ideas to host events at pump tracks, here is the format we used
Pump Track Time Trials

Points system:
· 1st place: 7 points - the ultimate champion!
