Gnars are a new way to fund extreme athletes
We prefer a world where kids aren't sold energy drinks by their heroes. So as a community of action sports enthusiasts, we've formed a DAO to rethink how extreme athletes get sponsored.
Gnars are NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain
Based on Nouns open source and CC0 artwork, they're stored fully on-chain with no external dependencies. Each one gets you a DAO vote and memberships are available at auction, forever.

Huge thanks to @0xMulf for his work on adapting Lil Block Party for Gnars! You can now visit Settle.wtf to see a preview of what the next Gnar will look like if settled during the current block. If youāve ever had a desire for a specific head or style, keep your eyes out for them to pop up and be quick to settle or that Gnar might disappear forever!
Frontend and Protocol Updates
Volky has been hard at work on all sorts of gnarly updates! The first ones you may have already noticed on the website: a counter with the number of auctions until the next Gnarving, current auction duration, and a link to settle.wtf to pick the next Gnar. Soon youāll see proposals and governance within our frontend app rather than having to navigate to Snapshot. Along with these final app updates we will be transitioning to a fully on-chain DAO and migrating the treasury away from our current Safe and Reality setup. [1] [2]
Alternative Minting on Thatās Gnarly
Thatās Gnarly has been updated with alternate methods for minting to help save you money on gas fees! You can now mint editions using credit card or with MATIC/ETH on Polygon and completely avoid the gas costs of minting on Ethereum mainnet.
