Music: Cornerstone Roots - Wake Up
Yo fam, what's up?
It's been a weird week for me in terms of skateboarding, but thankfully it's all over now! And here's what happened:
On Tuesday night, me and the homies met at the dojo to chill and skate, and after a failed Bs Bigspin attempt while warming up, I felt my left knee starting to go numb at the front and tightening at the back. A feeling I’ve never experienced before! I stopped skating for a few minutes thinking it was something that would go away, but it didn’t. As soon as I stepped back on my board, my knee felt like it had lost 50% of its strength, causing me instability. I listened to my body and stopped skating, but I also started worrying that something bad had happened. You see, a friend of mine tore his ACL right in front of me a couple months ago and just went through surgery last week. So now, anytime I feel something weird in my knees, I get instantly worried lol!
Anyway, that night I went home still feeling like something was off with my knee, and went to sleep. The next day I wasn’t feeling bad, but not good either. My knee still felt weak, but the numbness was gone and there was no swelling. I don’t mess around with injuries, so I hit up my homie Paul and booked a few physio sessions to get better. Did a couple — mostly shockwave and ice therapy — and didn’t skate for the next 3 days. Woke up on Saturday feeling OK, but wasn’t 100% sure till I actually stepped on my board.

Later that day, me and the crew met at the local skatepark. After a bit of chit-chat, I started warming up by cruising around. Even though there was no pain, I decided to take it easy and just skate some transition. But then it hit me… what if I waxed the cement ledge right next to the ramp and finally learned Slappy Grinds?! And that’s exactly what I fcking did! Felt fcking amazing landing my first Slappy 50-50 and Crooked! Super stoked! Slappy Grinds feel awesome!

I was hyped to learn more, was trying Slappy 5-0s actually, but suddenly the clouds gathered and it started raining hard. So we had to flee to either the dojo or another roofed spot if we wanted to keep skating. After a quick convo, we decided to go to Zosimaia, a legendary spot here in my hometown. Our own mini-MACBA! It’s been months since I last skated Zosa, and oh boy, nothing feels better than skating flat on Zosa’s perfect marble! Combined with the 2 marble ledges, it’s the perfect spot for rainy days (and not only)!

We skated there for a couple more hours, drank a few beers, and of course, stacked some more clips hehe! It was one hell of a Saturday sesh! As for today, I’m just taking it easy, chilling at the house and planning my upcoming trip to Istanbul! 9 days and counting hehe!
Thanks for checking out my post everyone and as always...
