Last Sunday, we decided to attend a mass for Palm Sunday of this Holy Week 2026. Since the Cathedral was a few meters away from our house, we just decided to take a walk because of the bumper-to-bumper heavy traffic. While walking, I just noticed a lot of people headed towards the Cathedral, and most of them were holding a palm or "Palaspas" in Filipino words. A lot of palm vendors are selling their "Palaspas" in the street, and I think this is the most crowded Palm Sunday I've ever witnessed.
I decided to take a photograph using my Insta360 Ace Pro 2 while walking towards the Cathedral, and this is what I captured.
A bumper-to-bumper heavy traffic, a lot of people, and sidewalk vendors came outside together for Palm Sunday.
The sidewalk is also crowded, so we experience walking traffic, maybe because of the sidewalk vendors and the narrow sidewalk.
When we reached the pathway to the cathedral, a lot of people were listening to the mass, and most of the sidewalk vendors were busy selling their goods.
I saw a few people light a candle and put it into the candle station.
OMG! I think this is the most crowded Palm Sunday mass I have ever attended. Everyone is holding their Palm "Palaspas" believing what they want to believe. When we found the spot to stay for a while, the mass we attended was almost done. The personnel who were assigned to baptise the Palms climbed up into the platforms, and most of the people started to walk towards the platform. They started to wave their Palms, and those personnel who were assigned to baptise the Palms started to pour Holy Water onto the Palms.
