The problem with deck sniping in Gods Unchained is not new and a solution that fairly obscures the opponent's decklist for both parties seems to be still far away.
The topic has been raised repeatedly by Council of Mortals members and implementing a possible solution has been pushed out in favor or other tasks considered higher in priority.
In the meantime a temporary solution that creates equal opportunity for both players appeared from the community side. Everyone playing on Windows and Mac has the great GUvrs tool made by Birdgineer, but I play on Ubuntu sometimes and thought to myself: "How hard would it be to write a simple script to get the opponent's ID from the log?" Turns out I had to learn a few things to get it working correctly!
I got it ready, it's super simple and bare-bones, but seems to be working! For all the masses of Gods Unchained Linux players out there! 😉
I hope someone will find this useful. Any comments and suggestions are appreciated!
You can check the code (it's really short and simple!) from Github, here
