Greetings to GU community!
I have been tweaking this Food Chain combo deck, and after some changes I think this is a good deck with winning all 4 games that I played in Auric Gold. And I think it is also more fun than most Aggro War or Aggro Light decks by providing a more diverse gameplay.
Changes
I removed Faeflame Blade and Nefarious Brair to add two Feral Shapeshifter cards. It is a 4/4 with hidden for 1 turn, and it can also deal 1 dmg to creatures. Also it's a wild creature so it suits for my deck. The only downside is I don't have relic removal in my deck now, but I think it is fine in this meta.
I also changed Moonbeam to Lightning Strike. Moonbeam can refresh mana which can be useful. However, you need to be frenzied to refresh mana, and by removing the only relic in my deck it is going to be more difficult, so I changed it to Lightning Strike which is more efficient.
Game
Against HRD I try to rush the combo with only one Food Chain since they are really fast.
Mulligan/1 Mana
I find Pack Stalk but I don't find the rest. Luckily I find Food Chain on my first turn.
2 Mana
I could've used Vow of Champions but I GP to trade.
3 Mana
I already found all the combo, so I use Vow of Champions to kill the Crooked Quartermaster before they get more removals.
4 Mana
I play my combo of Bladefly + pip + Pack Stalk + GP + Food Chain. I didn't use Crescent Werewolf because I still have other Food Chain in my deck. I don't get great creatures but I still get Snapping turtle which has 4 armor. They play some creatures.
5 Mana
I go face and draws a card with Lootable Corpse. Lightning Strike seems like a waste but I wanted to ensure the confused creatures to go face. They misplay here by using Uncanny Rogue. Snapping Turtle has 4 armor on their opponent's turn, which makes it almost impossible to kill if you don't have strong removals. GG!
Conclusion
Food Chain deck is good, but it is also not consistent. Sometimes you would never find combo pieces and just lose the game to Aggro / Combo decks.
I am thinking to make a Light Olympian Deck since I never played it and it is also cheap compared to the other decks(except Zoo War and Light). Also I have most of the cheap common and rare cards so I only need the more pricey Legendary cards.
