Weekend Ranked
Hello my Hive friends! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend ranked.
I went 18/25 with Control Nature again, only this time I added a very busted card to my deck: Sage of Renewal. (I only added it for the last ten games, and only added 1x. Knowing how good it is now I would run 2x all day, every day!)
Sage is pretty OP. It is a 3 mana 6/6 (that you can play at 7 mana) with Regen 2 PLUS delve up to 4 nature spells. Those spells include some insane combos:
- Insane heals with Revivification / Compost Charm (Heals up to 28 health PLUS add extra cards to your hand)
- Insane turns with Mana refresh + removal spells with Pack Stalk / Untamed Regrowth (can drop a 6/6 with Regen 2 and then also Hunt or Demo on the same turn)
- Insane combos with Armor of the Pangolin on a Sage, making the Sage a 7 Mana 6/6 with 2 Regen and 3 Armor
- Insane value on getting extra Canopy Barrages / Lightning Strikes in your deck
Nature may have some real clunkers like Dense Fog, but when you get to Delve and pick from 3 options you are very likely to get at least one good option.
Sage Advice
If you want to maximize your Sage of Renewal here are some tips n' tricks!
- Are you in need of heals? Only take 1 Mana spells if possible to effectively re-roll 12 spells to find Revivification or Compost Charm
- If you're faced with bad cards, take the cheapest option. For instance if you are presented with 3 bad options and one of them is Dense Fog and the other two options are 3 or 4 mana spells, always take Dense Fog! That will allow you to Delve 3 more Mana worth of (hopefully) good spells, rather than taking a subpar 3 mana spell and now you only get to Delve a single 1 Mana spell.
- As a rule of thumb, prioritize Removal, Mana Refresh, the lowest cost card.

It's definitely not a meta card right now, but it packs an interesting punch in the right matchups.
- Playing against Nature? They'll throw some spells for sure, and getting wide with cheap creatures is a good way to stop them from using those spells effectively!
- Playing against BWD? Drop Lara on 7 Mana and lock your opponent out of Apocalypse Now, while keeping a Radiant Dawn in your pocket for Demos! Now what will BWD do at 7 mana?? They will give you a copy of Apocalypse Now is what they'll do, and you'll have some fun with it!
- Playing as Deception deck steal? This fits RIGHT IN and I haven't seen anyone run it!
Good luck to everyone!
