Zombies, the famous creature type already popular in other cards games, made their debut in Gods Unchained in the Divine Order (DO) expansion. One of them maybe easy to deal with but they will quickly swarm and overwhelm you.
At first, zombies saw fringe play in the meta but with the buffs to necroscepter and cursed obelisk and the revamped soul burn god power they are coming back with a vengenance. The deck is relatively inexpensive since most of the cards are from DO.
Strategy
God Power
Choose Soul Burn for control matchups to proc frenzy easily and have the reach to close out the game.
Choose Blood Ritual for aggro matchups where you expect to control the board to pick off creatures and keep your health high.
Neferu's Sacrifice is too slow to play at 3 mana.
Mulligan
Mulligan hard for necroscepter and cursed obelisks, you want to see these cards ASAP.
Going first look for 1 drops so you can play them turn 1, and proc frenzy on turn 2 when you pip out scepter or obelisk.
Going second look for removal so you don't fall too behind when you play scepter or obelisk.
Playstyle
In aggro matchups, you want to control the board and grind your opponent out of cards with your zombies. The leech prevents them from ignoring the zombies and going face since you will heal back up.
In control matchups, you want to kill them ASAP. Play all your cards, hit their face, finish them off with corpse explosion.
You can run a combo deck with skull scepter, mass raise, corpse explosion, brimstone, dangerous ritual, necronomics, to OTK your opponent.

Card Choices
Zombie
- Necroscepter: Gets you a zombie at the end your turn. The favor loss is great to stop your opponent from getting cards from the sanctum.
- Cursed Obelisks: Swarms your board with zombies. Really hard to kill for aggro decks.
- Voracious Fiend: Sticky 2 drop
- Inexorable Raider: Sticky 3 drop, blessed effects can be powerful
- Eva, Baroness of the Dead: Transforms a random 3 mana or less creature into a zombie, good for slowing the game down against aggro. Be careful not to transform your own creatures.
- Arch of Amennose: Bigger and better obelisk
- Outnumber the Living: Can be useful with soul burn to proc frenzy to get a lot of zombies against a wide board
- Mass Raise: 5 mana with your soul burn for 5 zombies is an easy way to fill your board
Nethers
- Netherborne Binder: Sticky 1 drop, opponent healing is worth the body
- Undead Roach: Good for trading and coming back when you're frenzied
- Nether's Advocate: Sticky 2 drop, good with sacrifice effects
- Void Banshee: 2 drop that can trade up, health loss is negligible
- Vrock: Draws cards, 2hp is easily killed so it is more of a combo card
- Fickle Cambion: 3/3 that gains attack when you get damaged and gains health when you heal, gets big if left alone
- Decaying Rhino: 4 mana 6/6 is a big big body
- Undead Chimera: Deals 2 damage to both gods on roar and when attacking, procs frenzy easy and gives reach
Removal
- Blight Bomb: Great early removal
- Ragnarok: Deals 3 damage to both gods and give burn 3 to all creatures, early borad wipe, also good for finishing off your opponent
- Vanguard Axewoman: Flexible, can be removal or a body to proc frenzy next turn
- Vow of Champions: Flexible removal, can deal 2 damage to creatures or face, or heal for 4
- Soul Shatter: Destroy a 3 mana or less creature, good early removal
- Mutual Hate: Destroy a 4 mana or less creature and take damage equal to the creature's health, importantly hits 4 drops that soul shatter doesn't, damage is negligible with your healing
- Void Flash: Destroy one of your and your opponent's creatures, good for turning your zombies into removal
- Ray of Disintegration: Unconditional removal for anything big
Top End
- Netherswarm Lord: Buffs your nethers and draws cards if you're frenzied,
- Corpse Explosion: Destroy all your nethers and 1 damage to your opponent for each destroyed or if you're frenzied deal 3 for each, great finisher
- Neferu's Will: Destroy your other creatures and make 1 creature super big, great for turning all your small guys into one big monster
Utility
- Brimstone, Dangerous Ritual: Deals damage to both gods and draw a card, good for proccing frenzy and finishing off your opponent
- Untold Greed: Destroy one of your creatures to draw 2 cards, good for turning zombies into card draw
- Necronomics: Deal 5 damage to your god and refresh 5 mana, great for getting more mana for your combos
Other
- Wild Hog, Skeleton Heavy, Pyramid Warden: Sticky creatures
- Guild Enforcer: 5 mana 3/4 with armor 2 and frontline, super hard to kill, in every deck, expected to be changed soon
