Intro
With Mortal Judgement released comes everyone's favorite activity digital cardboard crack gambling aka opening packs. I bought 152 rare packs like a hopeless degen and loss money on them. Most of it was uneventful.
Some Packs
Here's a few of the packs I bought, nothing interesting like the vast majority of my pulls. The floor is 4 commons and 1 rare, which you'll be seeing a lot. After the first dozen packs, the feeling of disappointment crept up on me and only grew.
THE MYTHIC
Not everyone can be lucky like and pull the mythic 🤡.

Highlights
Here are the highlight's from my packs, a few diamonds and golds and several shadows. Shines are nice to pull but they're hard to sell since there are currently no use for them except looks and flexing, wen shiny bonus.
I pulled 4 legendaries which is a bit above expected but they aren't exciting ones. Dagan, the most expensive one currently, is worth more than all 4 of them together. Overall, I had average luck with my pulls, around expected number of high rarities and shines.
Full Card Set Price
You can see the cost of the full set at https://gutools.net/. To buy a playset of Mortal Judgement will cost $594, and the majority of that cost is in the legendaries. Just the commons, rares, and epics total $68.
Pack Economics
You can check out the Mortal Judgement buyer's guide here to see pack info and drop rates https://blog.godsunchained.com/2022/04/13/mortal-judgement-buyers-guide/.
There is an early bird discount that starts at 20% and decreases linearly as $10mil sales happen.
You can see the rarity and quality drop rates below. As beforementioned my lucky was average. For 152 rare packs is 152 rare slots and 608 common slots, which add up to an expected value of 3.8 legendaries, 1.5 diamonds, and 7.6 golds.
Packs are always negative expected value since the price of packs will never exceed the average cost of cards on the secondary market. If they did people would buy packs and flip cards until it isn't profitable. People buy packs to have fun gambling on cards and spin the lottery for the mythic card. Most of what you pull are 2cent commons. Card price crashed and bounced back up for most cards. I expect prices to stabilize after the mythic is found since there will be little incentive to buy packs after and the meta will have settled a bit by then.
