A weekly recap of my Mythic Weekend Ranked experience, this time doing a challenge of using all the different tribes. Prior to this, I’ve done two challenges so far, first a Free-To-Play (F2P) Gauntlet with all the Gods to show that they can all compete and get Legendary packs, and second I did another Gauntlet using only Welcome and Core Cards.
Here we go, the last of the tribes! While Wild is everywhere and always has been in the Meta in some form or another, I decided to do something a little different: Wild but Sober, meaning no Confused creatures. When I started building the deck I realized just how lacking Nature’s Wild 2-drops were without Black Jaguar; almost all of them had lower total stats than the 1-mana Broccoli (Marsh Walker)! Luckily, I was still able to get a Legendary Pack this weekend with 10 wins! A good way to end this series and start focusing on Daily P2E. This makes it 3 Tribes that I was able to get a Legendary with in total!

*Weeks 24 and 25 were out of 25 games; it changed to 18 games starting Weekend 26
Here’s the deck that I used, costing 0.0702 ETH or ~$61.
Interestingly it was pretty even going against most other Gods; nothing was a game over or under 50/50 except being 2-0 against Death. Deception again took the highest frequency, as they were the last few weeks. Nature still struggles against Control Magic, but the way I built this deck it had a little more chance by using Sudden Bloom instead of The Hunt. Also, that is the only opponent that I use the Animal Bond GP with; otherwise I always go with Selena's Mark. The lack of a good/consistent 2-drop hurt me in mirror matches I think.
Strengths
-Great value with delves/card generation
-Good tribal plus Regen synergy
-Confused creatures are usually over-stated; there’s still some non-confused ones that are over-stated for the cost like Marsh Walker, or Vanilla-stated but with upsides/options (Rabid Bear, Starving Sabertooth)
-Snowballing potential with Finnian and Dagan
Weaknesses
-Usually no defensive traits like Ward or Protected, susceptible to AOEs
-Not that many decent Blitz creatures to reclaim a board
Notable Cards
I’ve talked about Finnian. Celestial Stag, and Valewarden Minotaur a lot before in my other series, so let’s discuss some of the newer cards that are good. Dagan is obviously very good with your Regen creatures, and can snowball a whole board out of control, although sometimes you don’t have anything to hit against to trigger the Regen (like against Control Magic for example). It may also buff your opponent’s creatures. You can also pair it with Forrestheart Dryad for some insane swings; even without Dagan, I gained appreciate for the Dryad because it lets your creatures survive and gain board control when otherwise you’d be trading. It has won me the game a couple of times for sure.
Notable Cards Not In My Deck
While there are a bunch of good Confused Wild Creatures (like Black Jaguar, Underbrush Boar, Green Giant), there not that many decent non-Confused ones that I didn’t already have in my deck. Nefarious Briar and Svart Basilisk are decent tech cards with Wild synergy. Lethal Prowler can work in an aggro/token deck to provide some instant face damage. Cyclops Defender is still a decent frontline for 7-mana, but you’re more likely to see it from a Valewarden Minotaur than actually including in your deck.
Other Gods
Other than Nature which has 56 (ok, now THIS is the most out of the whole series) God-specific Wild, Death/Deception/Light/Magic all have 2, while Cyclops has 1. Wild and Viking can fight it out to see who is the most God-loyal tribe in the game!
So now this is done, I think I’ll focus a bit on getting decks ready for Daily P2E. This includes figuring out if it’s worth it to add any shinies to a full Meteorite deck. I’ll be going on week-long trip starting in a couple of days anyways so I’ll be missing the next weekend. I do have a couple of ideas going forward in terms of a new series, but I’m always open to suggestions!
Got a few Legendaries but nothing to write home about. My MJ Legendary was a Silksprite which is worth a measly $3.
