Introduction
Finally, sealed mode is out. This is the mode that GU fans have been waiting for. The aim of this mode is to win and get rewards in a gauntlet type kind of arena similar to Hearthstone. After three total losses or 7 total wins the gauntlet ends whichever comes first. Obviously the more wins you get, the better rewards you can receive. I spent 15 gods to give it a try. I will be sharing my deck and experience + thoughts playing this mode.
Experience On Sealed Mode
I had to go to the browser to make the payment for the 15 gods and it was quite straight forward and easy to do. I was given three gods to choose from with their cards and some neutrals.
There was a total of 60 cards to choose from and by the looks of it, it is completely randomized. There were some cards that had duplicates. I think there is a bit of RNG on getting a good pool of cards to choose from. I had 8 legendary cards to choose from and I assume everyone else had this but I felt like my legendary cards weren't the most ideal. I only liked Galatea, Deception unshrouded and the Avatar of War. The rest were really meh. I can't seem to find the battle with the deck on GUdecks but below is my deck code.

I made my deck around Galtea. I took Thievery god power which would help combo with Oni Spellsword. My deck had a lot of power but I faced a lot of issues with high stat cards from the opponent. It seems like just raw stats are the way to go since the randomized choices of spells aren't always there to remove them. I could be wrong though. Don't take my advice too seriously though as I went a whopping 2 wins and 3 losses. Honestly, felt I had bad cards and I hope I can have someone feel that way in the comments below if that's just me or am I just a shitty player. At least I got 10% of what I spent back from winning but it's still a big L.
Thoughts on Sealed Mode
I found Sealed Mode to be fun. I think it still needs some tweaking. I hope the cards will slowly get adjusted and randomized but based on usage and win-rate that way it won't feel like a bit lucky to get some good RNG on the cards. It still takes skill to build decks but I feel just too many cards that are good and synergize together could be too strong to play against. In addition to that, I also don't like how MJ packs are still be given away. As for the other prizes, I think they are quite fair and great for those that like collecting cosmetics.
Overall, I think this mode has a ton of potential in the future. I have high hopes as this mode gives a level playing field. You can't really pay to win in this mode. There's both skill in deck building as well as playing the game which is great. It's great to not have to play against boring stuff like Board Wipe Death.
Concluding Thoughts
Sealed Mode came out with a bang and delivered. I think this is what GU needed and I look forward to what's to come. I hope we will see a U-turn now on the player base. I'm excited for the next expansion coming up in this last quarter of the year. Hopefully, it will be more balanced and it can introduce new mechanics that can shakeup up the current meta.
I might just sit out of weekend ranked and play sealed mode for the time being. I may stop sealed mode though if all I'm doing is just burning gods and losing more than I'm winning. I'm still thinking we need a standard and wild mode in GU for ranked play. This will give newer players a safe haven from some op OG cards and will still leave a place for older edition to be played since there's no nerfing or banning of cards that are locked in terms of being able to change them.
