Hello everyone,
So as you can see from my previous posts, It has been a while since I have been trying out a bunch of different decks, gods and playstyles. It was a lot of fun and helped me learn a lot about the keep and I plan on continuing on doing so in the future.
However, I decided to go back to nature for this weekend rank because first I miss playing nature as it is my favorite god, and second I thought maybe I can change a few things with my previous Zoo deck and maybe make it better since it was not performing the way I wanted to.
Although I did not get the results I wanted, I want to share it with you because I think with few modifications that I will mention it can do better and maybe I can get any advice that can help at the same time!
So first of all let's see the deck:
The deck
So as you can see, this deck is no stranger if I might say so. It is a classic mid-game beast deck because I thought that with all those Aggressive war and deception decks I have been facing pre-weekend, this deck should be able to perform very well against them.
It looks a bit similar to a deck I posted before but I modified some cards in it that I feel can do good and make the difference. Unfortunately, I was surprised at how many late game decks I faced this weekend so I did not get the results I want but still I got a pretty decent result I would say.
Matchups Breakdown
| Matchups | Wins/Matches | Win rate |
|---|---|---|
| Light | 1/2 | |
| Nature | 5/7 | |
| Magic | 2/6 | |
| Death | 2/3 | |
| War | 3/4 | |
| Deception | 2/3 | |
| Overall | 15/25 | 60% |
I think this is the first weekend that I faced so many varied gods! I usually face a lot more nature and war. Magic has been performing very well recently so it is starting to be seen more. Plus with the new update more players decided to stop de-ranking so this is a good step to the game!
Although being unaware of that made me lose a bunch of games, I am happy with this change as it brings more competitiveness and fun to the game and it is a lesson to be learned for future weekends!
So facing a lot of late game magic decks costed me a lot and it dropped the win rate a bunch because I expected to face much less than that to be honest! But still 15 is decent I would say with some modifications it would do better as well!
Cards I added
Low-Hanging Fruit
I bought this card and added it because I felt it gives a lot of value for a mana card. A 1 damage, 1/1 creature and 1/1 buff for 1 mana is very valuable I would say. Plus I thought it can help me finish low creatures or pop shields in crucial moments! And it helped a lot to be honest!
Celestial Stag
Also bought this one to add it. This creature is in most of nature decks and his ability is so valuable. I just learned that you have to know the timing to play him to either make the best out of his ability or force the enemy to waste a creature on him or get punished for not doing it.
It helped me a lot but It did not do well against magic because it was easily removed.
Falling Star
Got this one in my last weekend rewards so I threw it in there. Most of the times I used it was either to buff a strong creature I had on board or to use the burn on it. And the 3 2/2 creatures you get on top prove very helpful at some points!
Improvement I would make
Raging Giant for Pangolin
The Pangolin feel behind after the nerf it received. It is now much easier to be killed to switching it with a stronger card makes sense to be. Most of the time I was able to get the frenzied off at 6 mana so It would also get 1 armor. I would still keep 1 pangolin to use the blitz to clear in any situation I might need to.
Hunt Warden for Rabid Bear
I know I said a lot times before that since these 2 creatures are so similar in stats it would not make a big of a difference. However, with the Wildfire existing, the wild on the Rabid Bear is also important to give it the buff.
A lot of times I had the Hunt Warden and Wildfire so having the Rabid Bear instead would have made things different!
Guild Enforcer for Moon-Crazed Cyclops
Although the Guild Enforcer is generally good, I would switch it with maybe a more cheap, strong creature to create more aggression because I notice that I did not need the frontline this much. So I feel like having a more aggressive creature that can pack a punch would be better for this deck. Also having wild faction is even a plus!
Conclusion
Although that this deck did not perform the way I wanted it to, it was fun going back to nature again because I fell behind recently with this god since I stopped playing it for a while.
So after this experience I will keep trying to change and improve on the deck and get back to the mentality of nature decks again while also trying new stuff from time to time! So this deck was not the worst but also not the results I wanted if I might say so.
This can be helpful as a starting point to any new player to mythic or other ranks and experiencing with it can help a lot while switching cards that you feel can do better! So I hope it was helpful for anyone and I am looking forward to sharing more deck and playstyles from different gods with you all!
That's it for this post hope everyone had an amazing weekend rank to enjoy the new rewarding system with a huge thanks for our wonderful developer for putting in the work!
Mad Love, Peace out <3
