Hello everyone,
so in this post I will be talking about 3 different popular playstyles for the magic god, explaining the idea behind them and how to use them and mention the important cards that are close to irreplaceable in each deck!
Each deck will also vary in budget requirement. First playstyle will be the cheapest, second medium and the third one will be the most costly.
So if you're new to the game and love to use magic deck and been struggling to find the suitable playstyle for you and your cards, stick around maybe this will help you!
First Playstyle:
Zoo Magic:
The first playstyle I am going to talk about will be classic Zoo Magic playstyle. This playstyle focus on controlling the board as much as possible with your creatures, while supporting them with your damage spells and wiping the opponent creatures without having to sacrifice yours.
It's a simple playstyle and very cheap at the same time since you can use any strong creatures available for you.
This type of playstyle will not be efficient in very high ranks but it should get you a bunch of wins anywhere from midnight shadow to solar gold if played correctly.
Deck Example:
Important Card for this playstyle:
Illuminate, Wyrmbreath, Mind Jolt and Epiphany:
These cards are very important and can only be replaced by cards with so similar effect like for example: Epiphany with Astric Implosion.
However, all other card can be replaced with any creature with similar stats or effects.
Second Playstyle:
Spell damage:
The second playstyle is the one I use mostly personally.
It is based on keep on wiping the board as fast possible with you damage spells, avoid taking a lot of face damage early to mid game as possible either with your normal or frontline creatures , and then dominate the late game with strong beasts and support them with you spells.
This playstyle can help you anywhere from solar gold to mythic, but it can't compete much in mythic ranks, so you might struggle a bit when you reach there maybe hold on for a week and then drop and rank up again.
This playstyle does not require a big budget and is personally so fun for me and I advise any magic lover to try it and maybe polish it to make the best version out of it!
Example Deck:
Important Cards:
In addition to the previous cards mentioned in the first playstyle, this playstyle also have Starshard bolt, Tracking Bolt and Ratify as so important cards:
With the combination of any strong, mid (preferably magic related) and late game beasts, this playstyle should be quite effective.
Final Playstyle:
Aether Damage:
This playstyle is the most effective, luxurious and advanced among all these playstyles.
It basically depends on huge combination plays with all Aether cards in your deck varying from damage roars, drawing Aether creatures effects and buffing those Aether creatures as well.
This playstyle require a big budget because of all the important cards required for it, but it can compete in high ranks if mastered correctly.
Example Deck:
Important Cards:
Important cards are Defend the ramparts, Dimension Looper, Mana auditor, Planetar Centaurion, Planetar Sage, Rebirth Planetar.
So basically this playstyle is costly because such cards are so important to make it work.
But remember, as important as it is to have a good, strong deck, it is important to master it and know the goal and though process behind it. So playing a certain deck for the first time might not give the expected result. However, with consistency, practice and always trying to improve and polish the deck itself it can reward you greatly!
Conclusion:
So the goal behind this post was to help any new or confused player find the playstyle that he thinks suit him and his cards.
However, remember that a lot of other playstyles exist for the magic god and even among these 3 playstyles exists a lot of versions! So keep polishing, keep trying until you find THE playstyle for you! That's the beauty of this game is that it can never make you stop of going wild with your imagination!
I will be doing a similar post for each god hopefully I can be of help for anyone.
Thanks for reading, mad love and peace out <3
