Last week, I had to grind extra hard to climb out of ranks 9-10. And just when I was one game away from ranking up, they pulled me back in 👐
This happened at least 4 times: I’d get to the final game before ranking up, only to face some awful matchup. Last time, it was a whale war — someone who decided to play two games that evening and then disappeared.
I considered building something super-meta with meteorite cards to counter these losing streaks, switching to a 50% WR deck with 💎 cards for a quick comeback. But in the end, I managed without it. 😂
Now I’ve been stuck at ranks 11-12, which feels like 80% of my game time anyway.
Deck changes:
I tried all sorts of adjustments. At one point, I benched a few 💎 cards to boost my winrate. But then I came to my senses and put almost everything back. That shift brought me a 7 $GODS streak for a couple of days straight.
Cunnings took a hit. They’re kinda weak right now — if you don’t roll the coin or pull ward/hide, they’re practically useless.
Headsmen are a better pick for buffs. They’re stronger against druid control cards and deal more damage on average. But shiny versions are more expensive, so there’s a chance Cunnings might make a comeback. 😄
I also rediscovered Sleigh Master Valka. I think, it’s better than any single buff card in the same mana range.
Conclusions:
- Sometimes RNG just isn’t on your side. It happens.
- Rigging? Doesn’t exist. If you believe in it, try playing poker offline or online — it’s all the same.
- Stick to budget 💎 decks and forget about the meta.
At some point, I lost sight of what I wanted from this deck. But now I remember:
Drop small units on the board, refresh resources through Rally, make a few favorable trades in aggro matchups, find a board buff, and hit face by turn 5-6.
If you don’t draw the cards you need, or your opponent’s RNG is just better, there’s nothing you can do. Just hit “Play”
