Hello everyone. A significant portion of Hive-Engine tokens have experienced abnormal value losses over the past few weeks. Cent has also seen a decline in value over the last week. This general downward trend could have several causes, but in this article, I'll discuss a few reasons for Cent's decline.
- A few whales are leaving Hive-Engine (or even Hive itself). Over the past few weeks, several individuals have been selling large amounts of tokens, clearing out their Hive-Engine portfolios. Naturally, Cent is also affected by this selling wave. This selling wave will likely end for Cent around May 7-9.
- We generally set the reward distribution period for Cent's liquidity pools for a period of one year. Last August, we reduced the maximum supply of Cent to 100 million. We stopped distributing Cent in liquidity pools other than those included in the Stablecoin Study. However, there are still liquidity pools distributing large amounts of Cent.
- Recently, LP rewards were distributed in the Hive/Tribe liquidity pool, and the reward distribution period was restarted. Yesterday, the same process was repeated in the Hive/Trade liquidity pool. Tomorrow, we will perform a similar process in the Cent/Pob liquidity pool. During this process, some liquidity providers decided to sell a portion of the tokens they received.
Recently, we restarted the LP reward distribution in the Cent/ETH and Cent/Bee liquidity pools. We did not add Cent tokens as LP rewards to these liquidity pools. We will continue this strategy in the coming period. Therefore, the reasons mentioned above will disappear in a short time, and the selling pressure on CENT Token will decrease significantly. Stay tuned until we meet again.
