I greet you all specially, so today we'll be looking at the tenancy and landlords differences from both angle. First they're both humans, secondly, they both have different why behind their individual excuses.
Not all landlords are without conscience. Same goes to tenants.
Most of them overreacts when their simplicity and fundamental human rights are taken for granted. But still, justice can be tendered with mercy.
Some landlords are very wicked, you'll say, but it's not usually truly in most cases.
I know you'll want to say that before your rent is due, there have already started threatening you.
This used to be my take on landlord and tenants matters before I got engaged with a property management and real estate company.
But you see eh, some tenants will try so hard in pushing you to the last line, while still maintaining a pitiful face.
This particular tenant's rent was due in our apartment two months ago, and his landlord benevolently gave him two extra months to sort himself out with a new apartment, since he was moving.
Two months after, this man hasn't moved and also hasn't renewed his rent.
The contract between the landlord and the Real Estate Company is that as long as someone is occupying his house, rent has to be collected. Now, this tenant’s two months of grace is over and I'm to put a new tenant there and collect rent, starting from August.
I called this tenant and gave him the option of paying monthly for as long as he remains there and this man is still telling me to exercise patience.
After being given two free months, he is still asking for two extra weeks. The landlord on the other hand is asking for his August rent, that someone is occupying his house.
From my conversation with this tenant, he doesn't want to pay monthly because if he pays for August and packs out in the second week of August, he wouldn't be able to live for complete one month that he paid for.
This is coming from someone that just finished living two months free in someone's house. He doesn't want to pay monthly so that he doesn't pay for four weeks and end up staying for two weeks.
I'm totally amazed.
Some tenants just do the most. Tell me how this landlord will give the next tenant any grace after this tenant has put up this kind of show.
You guys, it's really not every time that the landlord is the bad person. Pay your rents and on time.
Let's maintain a mutual respect and understanding between each other, even as tenants and landlords.
We're first humans, before becoming business partners, customers and associates.
