Hello! Good morning to everyone. It's a beautiful Thursday, and the Lord has been so faithful to us.
This morning, I came to remind us of the holy spirit in our lives. Today, I will be speaking on the topic receiving the holy spirit.
Wow! What a lovely and sensitive topic to deliberate on. It's mandatory to receive the holy spirit into your life. And, without the holy spirit being inside of you, your life is incomplete.
I mean what I'm saying. You can't stay without the presence of the holy spirit in you, and you come to tell me that everything is okay with you.No, something is remaining in your life, and until you get that one thing that is remaining in your life, you're still incomplete.
Before I continue further, I will be reading from a very familiar scripture that has a lot to do with this subject matter at hand.
I will be reading from the King James version. Acts 2: 1-18
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his language.
And they were all amazed and marveled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these who speak Galilaeans?
And how hear we every man in our tongue, wherein we were born?
Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?
Others mocked, saying, These men are full of new wine.
But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
And on my servants and my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy.
I'm not going to elaborate on each of the verses, I will only emphasize what occurred in the upper room while the disciples were praying.
The bible has made it clear that Jesus had already promised to send the Comforter to them after ascending to heaven.
A day came when the promise came to fulfilment. According to these scriptures, the disciples were in the upper room praying, and they were still waiting for the promise.
Suddenly, the holy spirit descended on all of them, and they began to speak in various tongues. They were not aware of what they were saying. But people who listened to what they were saying, understood clearly.
They were able to detect their language and other languages. Another group of people was laughing because they thought the disciples were drunk.
But Peter explained to them that they weren't drunk, that it was the promise of the Father.
The holy spirit transformed them into spiritual beings.
There's transformation in Christ, seek the holy spirit, and you will find it. And once you find it, receive it into your life, and you will see a great transformation in your life.
I will be continuing next time. I will still emphasize more on the holy spirit. Stay tuned, and be blessed
