I reckon that increasing oil prices is bad. The rest of the things follow suit with the rise in oil prices. It is used to produce many things such as gas for cars and trucks, and power for homes and businesses.
Firms have to pay more to manufacture their products when oil costs go up so they transfer that burden onto us, the consumers. Hence we have to pay extra money for food, clothing and transportation.
The thing I hate most is when the price of something rises, because then I can’t be able to buy what I need anymore. I become more money conscious and start cutting back on my spending, like going out with friends or buying clothes. It feels like I'm always trying to stretch my paycheck as far as it will go, and when prices go up, it gets even harder.
The issue that concerns me the most is when there are conflicts in the Middle East, as there are now.
This area is responsible for a large part of the world’s oil supply and any conflict or threat of war can interrupt its production even more, leading to higher prices still. This puts an enormous strain on my finances and makes me worry about what lies ahead.
If only there was some way for me to prevent crude oil from becoming more expensive, but it appears beyond my control; I can only try to save wisely until things improve. Governments and companies might be compelled to seek alternative solutions that do not harm ordinary citizens if they understood how increasing petroleum costs affect people like myself each day.
But until then, I will keep abreast with the current events through the news. It is important to know that global happenings can affect our daily life activities and this knowledge is key even if we may not be able to do anything about them sometimes.
Besides, who knows? Someday, looking back at this time maybe I could say that indeed I made a difference in my own little ways such as speaking out or expressing myself for instance.
Generally, rising oil prices and worldwide tensions are something which touches each one of us and therefore it should be discussed on how it makes us feel and what can we do in order to handle it.
My wish is that my sharing of thoughts and experiences might help someone else realize they are not alone when grappling with these difficulties.
