Hello, everyone!
To begin with, my weekend experience is awesome. First, I appreciate God for the rising of the sun and when it is time to set the day, he will do it. Yesterday, it was raining throughout, and though I had clothes to wash, I couldn't do anything, since it was not my handwork to stop or cease the rain. It was God's work and we don't know what God is doing for us. Instead, I thank Him.
Today, the cloud, atmosphere was well structured, with no drizzling. Everywhere is sunny and my clothes are out for it to dry. I woke up very early in the morning because I was the only one to take up the house chores. My sisters had traveled and I was the only one left with my Dad. This week was my sister's cooking week, so I took up from her from where she stopped yesterday.
After I had finished with my household chores, I took my breakfast, Golden mourn mixed with milk and bread. It was so delicious and it stayed in my stomach longer than I could. I finished my breakfast; I made my market list, which consisted of food items. I specialized in the soup today because it's Saturday and I needed to prepare soup against Sunday.
I cooked _OKRA SOUP, in my local dialect it's called, atike
I went to the market with my preference list, see my list below.
And traded all of it at higher prices than I expected. I didn't argue with the traders to buy because it was not their fault. The cost of fuel is now at #1500 a liter.
I first bought okra with my customer. It was at #800 and I decided to add bush mango to keep the soup draw and thick as I intended to cook.
Here, I bought five food items from her. I proceeded to buy garri inside the market
This is inside the market, where everybody is selling different food items. Here, I bought garri and it was expensive. Last week, I got 8 cups of garri at #1000. Guess what I got today in the market, 6 cups at #1000; it was terrible. What of those with large families? How do they cope with this economic situation in Nigeria? God is our sufficiency
This is Garri
This is periwinkle-mfi and skin meat-ikpa
This is smoked fish
My father likes this fish, to the point when I wanted to leave for the market, he instructed me to get this particular fish for the soup. I did in obedience.
I came back home and started preparing the soup. I took time to wash the items thoroughly against sand and dirt. I put them in the pot and season them. Okra soup doesn't take time.
I finished the cooking. So, the food is ready. Come and eat. I ate to my satisfaction; my dad ate to his satisfaction, too.
This is my weekend experience. I'm happy and blessed.
I love, I care, and I forgive
