In July 2016, the second Bitcoin mining reward halving took place. STEEM spiked to $4 from which it crashed soon and slowly deflated until its all-time low on March 10 2017, which was 6.9 cents. By the summer of 2017, the Bitcoin halving had started taking effect and Bitcoin rallied. It was that time when Ethereum and many other prominent altcoins rose to very high levels of market cap. Ether, for instance, went up to almost $400 from just about $10 it was priced at the previous winter. STEEM was no exception. STEEM topped out at about $2 in the summer of 2017 and slowly corrected to about 80 cents in November 2017.
After Bitcoin had already started the massive rally towards its ATH at $20,000, SBD became vehicle of mad speculation apparently by Koreans and it shot up to an unbelievable $14. In December 2017, STEEM started appreciating rapidly until it topped out at $8.57 on January 3 2018. Then it slowly corrected until it reached its lowest value since the top which was about 10 cents in December 2019.
Most of you are well aware of the price action since then and the Steemit acquisition by Justin Sun, the birth of Hive and the price action of HIVE in 2020.
My question is this: How high do you think HIVE will go in the next round of altcoin mania after Bitcoin rallies as a consequence of last month's halving (if such a thing occurs)? Why?
