...or does it simply cause people to post shit and compromise their integrity and self-respect in a desperate attempt to garner rewards?
Today I noticed a very well know old Steemian create his first post on Hive under the pretext that he had been afraid of using his Steem Keys here and was a bit of a technophobe. Might I suggest he simply turned up for the money, in which case my respect for this guy goes to zero. If he'd have introduced this post with something along the lines of; "Wow, the Hive price is pumping so I thought I'd come over and get a piece of the action" that would have shown integrity and honesty. I might have raised an eyebrow at his brazenness but would have appreciated his openness!
The last few weeks have been lovely here. I've read a lot and the content has been extremely high and there's been a lot of engagement and respect. I've enjoyed it. Just the last couple of days though, the desperation to get a slice has trashed the content here.
I don't actually bemoan the pump, and for once, I am genuinely not being grumpy. It's brilliant to see the decisions the witnesses took, and the hard work put in by so many people to set this up being vindicated and for them to get no less than they deserve but seriously folks, let's not let greed, hypocrisy and jealousy gnaw away at this dreadfully nice community that's been built over the last month!
