Today I wanted to appreciate the ability to work remotely!
Remote Work Benefits
One of the things I've been blessed with in my career is opportunities to do things. It hasn't been an easy road that's for sure however with being determined and trying to work as hard as I can, I've been able to make positive changes for me and my family.
One of those important changes has been the ability to work remotely! Working remotely has its definite drawbacks I'm not going to sugarcoat that. Not being able to be face-to-face in physical presence with someone has its detriments that's for sure but there are also some considerable opportunities to do things and adapt to situations that we are presented with.
One of those benefits I've been able to enjoy is spending more time with family where we want to be. We recently took a multipurpose vacation to go look for houses in a different state, one that's warmer than we are living in right now! I was thankfully able to just take my laptop with me, grab an HDMI cable and we took off on our adventure. (That's just a generic background on the TV screen, not actually outside lol)
One of the things I've loved the most about this is being able to take my family to where we can spend a little bit of fun and quality time while I am upstairs working. The view is incredible and certainly makes working from here a little hard but also incredibly enjoyable.
Listening to the waves and all that has been good and kept my stress levels down even though things can be a little stressful for work.
Granted this will absolutely not be the view I will be working with every single day, we can't afford that by any stretch of the imagination lol but it was really amazing to be able to work during the day while my wife and son were out having fun, and when I finished work get out there in the normal, everyday working class neighborhoods of the area and look for a place we'd like to live.
It was an overall very successful trip! We narrowed down where we wanted to live to one neighborhood and are now working on getting there. Great benefits all around for us!
