Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I'm back with some interesting river photos that I recently snapped!
River Discoveries
The little man and I recently got to chatting with someone and we got to the topic of fishing of course, because that's what we men are passionate about! Lol. He was telling me about this fishing spot that was pretty close by and very easy to get to...if you know where to stop! I'd been looking for an opportunity like this for a while so when he said that we should go here, I instantly knew that I was going to be checking it out! I hung around and chatted with him for a while but I made sure that I added time into our outing to go check out the specific spot that he told me about and damn am I glad that we had that chance encounter!
It's fun when you are doing normal things in life and have these situations that lead you to good things, you never know when an opportunity presents itself and you run into someone that makes a change or improvement to your life that you weren't expecting!
This spot here is totally a hidden gem and one that we will be taking advantage of for a while, while we are living in the area. It's a nice section of a river and it's hidden from pretty much everything around but gives you ample room on the bank of the river to get down there and do some good fishing! It also doesn't hurt that it's got such a beautiful look to it when the sun is setting hahaha.
The river is a pretty good size one at that, and although we haven't caught any fish in it at the moment, he did say that he's caught all kinds of goodies here. He's caught largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, sunfish, pickerel and I've read that there are other fish like trout in here as well so we are totally looking forward to getting some exposure to that!
What's nice as well is that it's really sandy and has plenty of space to walk around and check out different spots without being cramped up. I like to spread out when I'm fishing and it's good to get down into the nooks and crannies where you can throw a few casts around a corner, near a tree or some other great spot. There are plenty of trees that are reaching down to the water, which means that there is ample opportunity for a bass to be hiding waiting for a nice bite!
I think the little man and I are going to try to sneak down here early one morning so that we can hopefully catch the bass as they start to wake up and get their breakfast. We tried it in the evening which is really nice however the fish weren't biting at that particular time. The weather is cooling off quite a bit lately though, so I don't know if that's got some factor to do with it, which it likely does. The bass tend to go into deeper waters when that occurs so that they can keep a more consistent temperature. I think that should hopefully mean trout or smallmouth bass, which are fish that enjoy cooler waters, should be out and more active but you never know.
The fun part about it all though is that this was a chance encounter and we ended up having some fun and learned something new about the area, which is always a plus!
