Today I wanted to appreciate the small times!
Summertime Firepits
One of the things that I am looking forward to is having my own fire pit! This one that we go to is pretty cool and it works well enough but there's a lot of things to be desired about it that wouldn't be an issue if we had our own.
On one of our recent walks the other day, the little man and I decided that it wasn't too hot out and it's been a long time since we had a fire so we spent some time gathering all of the materials to have one. We got all the sticks and even some other things like pine needles, pine cones and others so that we could have a successful fire. What was a real pain is that we tried to use flint and steel! Damn that's really difficult lol
We ended up going home and not having a fire that day. It was postponed to the next day though! We had this cool bug, millipede or something hanging out with us for a bit! If there's any type of critter that crawls around us, he's into it! lol the millipede thankfully didn't get turned into a cooked millipede or something lol that would have been brutal.
The fire we ended up making was a lot of fun! We grabbed lots of sticks from around us on the walk we took the day before and there was something that had just been chopped down by the landscapers trying to manage the property. It's gotten pretty wild over the past couple years! Lots of things overgrown so it was all cut down which was good. It gave us plenty of supplies for the fire though! Lol
Since the stuff was very much alive, you can see the steam blowing out of the end of it which was cool. I've seen it a few times but this was the strongest I've seen! I was sure to not get too close, the fire was hot as hell but didn't want to get burned by steam lol.
To the annoying part of the fire pit: we collected all of the wood you can see here! We burned most of it but we spent a considerable amount of time collecting all the wood and cleaning up the area, you know doing some good things. What happened that really annoyed me was the landscaping company came in a few days later and took them all! Lol those assholes!
We still had a great fire and it was nice to be outside in the evening, standing by the firepit roaring and not being freezing in my boots lol I do appreciate enjoying a nice fire in the winter but it's also nice to be able to enjoy them in the summertime!
