Today I wanted to show off this really cool vintage cigar holder we got from a friend! Straight from Italy too!
Vintage Italian Cigar Machine
One of the things I have a soft spot for is anything that's made in Italy. One of our friends recently was doing a lot of cleaning of things in their life and was getting rid of, donating or giving away a lot of the things that they've collected over the years. This was one of those items!
From what I understand, it's a vintage cigar holder that also doubles as a music juke box. It's really a hilarious combination, the song is cool and soothing but seems more appropriate for a childs music box than a cigar holder for a bunch of grown men lol.
Don't know much about the history of the place but I wouldn't mind looking it up and seeing what I can find out about it! The cool thing as well is that it's got the swiss element to it as well. The swiss are known for their very good handywork in their small moving parts so that was cool!
Pressing the button on the unit slowly starts the process going. I wasn't sure what was going on when I first pressed it but eventually it starts making its little movements!
It's got some really cool and ornate details to it. There was a lot of fine craftsman work that went into this I can tell you that! I don't know if this metal here is silver or something else. I don't think it's silver specifically but I have no way of knowing lol it does look quite bright though, so unsure if it's that or aluminum.
It's got some pretty cool painted designs on it as well! I like the little cupid looking thing hanging out on the top. I'm wondering what it would take to get this thing restored and brought back to its original brilliance.
When the unit is fully open, the cigar slots just sit there and hang out. I think it's designed to open up, sit there for half a minute or so then close back up. I didn't press the button and it closed back up after a short while.
Closing up shop! Better hurry or you won't get your cigar before it snaps shut on your finger!
One of the things that's really cool about Hive is there are people from all walks of life! I think 
In any case though, I'm considering getting into smoking cigars now hahaha. It would be a shame to let this bad Larry go to waste! I could roll up some cannabis joints and stick it in there, something I think
