Greetings Hivers,
Hope you're doing fine? Today, I would be sharing a coloured drawing of a ripe pineapple, which was achieve with different drawing materials such as pen, pencil, pastel, and other colors. I took a close study of the fruit this morning at a friend's fruit store, and I think it's my first close fruit study since I joined Hive.
One good thing about today's drawing, is that I learnt something new on how to manipulate colours and ink in drawing. Combining both is really cool because they compliment each other. Colours create a center of attraction and ink tints the colours to create variation of light, and also make the work vibrant.
After sketching the outlines of the image, I applied colours to various section of the faint sketch, creating details as well. I used the darker colours to create the intended patterns, and the lighter colours to highlight the created dark patterns in order to portray a ripe fruit. Then lastly, I tinted some areas to create the variation of light using a black and red pen and this was how it came out. I do hope you'd like it! š„°
