Scizor (ハッサム Hassam in Japanese) is a Bug/Steel-type Pokémon introduced in Generation II. It is one of two possible evolutions of Scyther.
Scizor's exoskeleton is reddish in color instead of green like its pre-evolution Scyther, and is made entirely of steel, including its muscles, so despite its slender body, it packs a powerful punch. Its main means of attack is its two large pincers, which have eye-shaped markings and, when waved, can frighten or confuse its enemies by making it appear to have three heads. These pincers account for a third of its body weight, and one blow from them is enough to reduce a huge rock to splinters, so it can mercilessly tear its enemies to pieces if they get caught in them.
Despite having wings, it does not use them to fly. Because its body is mostly made of steel, it tends to heat up in the heat of battle, so it uses its wings to regulate its body temperature and prevent its body from melting. It inhabits grasslands and forests.
