Ayer fuimos a comprar algunos posters de anime para que mi hijo pegara en su nueva habitación, el esta bastante feliz y ya su habitación poco a poco va tomando forma y personalidad, como vi que le gusto tanto pensé en hacerle su propio poster a mano, pero tambien recordé que tenia algunos cuadros para fotos por allí donde tenia dibujos que hice en mi adolescencia y me pareció una buena idea usarlo para colgar un dibujo que le gustara a mi hijo. El le encanto la idea y le pregunte que quería que dibujara y me pidió Pokémon, en esta casa mi esposo e hijo aman Pokémon jajaja.

Yesterday we went to buy some anime posters for my son to put up in his new room. He is very happy and his room is slowly taking shape and personality. Seeing how much he liked them, I thought about making him his own poster by hand, but then I remembered that I had some photo frames lying around with drawings I did when I was a teenager, and I thought it would be a good idea to use them to hang a drawing that my son would like. He loved the idea, and when I asked him what he wanted me to draw, he asked for Pokémon. In this house, my husband and son love Pokémon, ha ha ha.
Mi hijo me pidió específicamente un dibujo de charmander, entonces empecé a buscar referencias en Pinterest y me topé con este dibujo super tierno donde salía charmander y otros Pokémon muy populares. A mi hijo le encanto asi que esa fue mi referencia y empecé a ponerme manos a la obra.
My son specifically asked me for a drawing of Charmander, so I started looking for references on Pinterest and came across this super cute drawing featuring Charmander and other popular Pokémon. My son loved it, so I used that as my reference and got to work.
El boceto fue un desastre les juro que perdí dos horas solo en el boceto, era muy difícil mantener la proporción entre todos los personajes, termine teniendo dos bocetos uno mas deforme que el otro, pero tome todo con calma y decidí hacer un line art con marcador marrón e intentar arreglar el desastre y bajar un poco la desproporción, logre mejorarlo un poco y luego borre todas las marcas de lápiz para tener un boceto limpio en el cual comenzar a pintar. El primero comencé con Bolbasaur, usando diferentes tonos de verde y tambien diferentes materiales, marcadores acrílicos, colores, creyones de cera.
The sketch was a disaster. I swear I wasted two hours just on the sketch. It was very difficult to maintain the proportions between all the characters. I ended up with two sketches, one more misshapen than the other. But I took it easy and decided to do a line art with a brown marker and try to fix the mess and reduce the disproportion a little. I managed to improve it a bit and then erased all the pencil marks to have a clean sketch to start painting. I started with Bulbasaur, using different shades of green and also different materials, acrylic markers, colors, and wax crayons.
Y asi logre pintarlos a todos poco a poco, uno por uno, por suerte conseguí colores muy cercanos a la paleta de color de cada uno de ellos y realmente me encanto como estaban quedando, se veían sumamente tiernos. Quizás no fue perfecto, pero lo hice con mucho cariño para mi bebé, recién termine de pintarlo y ya casi es media noche en mi país, pero valió la pena, lo coloque en su marco y lo colgué de su pared, el estaba bastante emocionado, ni siquiera se durmió temprano esperando que lo terminara para verlo.
And so I managed to paint them all little by little, one by one. Luckily, I found colors that were very close to each one's color palette, and I really loved how they were turning out. They looked extremely cute. Maybe it wasn't perfect, but I did it with a lot of love for my baby. I just finished painting it and it's almost midnight in my country, but it was worth it. I put it in its frame and hung it on his wall. He was quite excited and didn't even go to sleep early, waiting for me to finish so he could see it.
Por cierto, el otro boceto no se perdió, pues mi hijo si le gusto y lo quiso pintar el a su modo jaja, asi que tambien valió la pena dibujarlo dos veces.
By the way, the other sketch wasn't wasted, because my son liked it and wanted to paint it his own way, haha, so it was worth drawing it twice.
Aunque me estrese bastante quiero volver a hacerlo me encanta poder crear cosas para mi hijo con mis propias manos, asi que quizás pronto vuelvan a ver un nuevo dibujo por acá.
Even though it's quite stressful, I want to do it again. I love being able to create things for my son with my own hands, so maybe you'll see a new drawing here soon.
