Transparent eyes

Estas ultimas semanas han sido un poco extrañas para mí como artista, hay días que definitivamente me siento genial trabajando y otros que simplemente me molesta terminar algo, la inspiración es cada día mas difícil de encontrar y tambien el tiempo libre para poder dedicarme a pintar es escaso. A veces solo quiero sentarme y pintar por horas pero mis obligaciones de madre no me lo permiten, hoy por ejemplo, tuve toda la mañana libre para dibujar, a pesar de tener muchas dificultades, pero no me sentía con demasiado humor y termine creando un retrato que para mí resulta confuso pues sus ojos no reflejan demasiado lo que pretendía al principio y el pintado es bastante mediocre y aunque se que los artistas tenemos días bueno y días malos, nunca dejara de frustrarme que algo no me salga como quiero.

These past few weeks have been a bit strange for me as an artist. There are days when I definitely feel great working, and others when I just can't be bothered to finish anything. Inspiration is getting harder to find, and free time to dedicate to painting is scarce. Sometimes I just want to sit and paint for hours, but my duties as a mother don't allow it. Today, for example, I had the whole morning free to draw, despite facing many difficulties, but I wasn't in the best of moods and ended up creating a portrait that I find confusing. The eyes don't really reflect what I intended at first, and the painting is quite mediocre. Although I know that artists have good days and bad days, it will never stop frustrating me when something doesn't turn out the way I want.

Realice el boceto y comencé a pintar usando una paleta de colores rosas pálidos y desaturados en su mayoría, sin embargo, tambien use tonos un poco mas vivos en labios y mejillas. Para las sombras use tonalidades marrones dentro de la gama de rosas y en una nueva capa agregue mas colores para darle mejor forma al rostro. Para terminar con la piel mezcle los colores dejando una piel suave y detallando los ojos, nariz y labios.

I made the sketch and began painting using a palette of mostly pale and desaturated pinks; however, I also used slightly brighter tones on the lips and cheeks. For the shadows, I used brown tones within the pink range, and on a new layer, I added more colors to better define the face. To finish the skin, I blended the colors, creating a smooth complexion, and added details to the eyes, nose, and lips.

Luego pinte el cabello con negro pero finalmente decidí cambiarlo a un azul muy oscuro y hacer reflejos con azul un poco mas claro y tenue, cambie el fondo a un gris claro y luego agregue iluminaciones a los ojos para hacerlos resaltar aun mas y tambien probe colocar unas iluminaciones azules alrededor de la silueta, como siempre, me gusta enrojecer la zona de los ojos, nariz y labios, finalice realizando un ajuste de color.

Then I painted the hair black, but finally decided to change it to a very dark blue and add highlights with a slightly lighter and more subtle blue. I changed the background to a light gray and then added highlights to the eyes to make them stand out even more. I also tried placing some blue highlights around the silhouette. As always, I like to redden the area of the eyes, nose, and lips. I finished by making a color adjustment.
