I always loved coloring mandalas.
Actually, when I was at school, I used to have a book with me full of mandalas, and was coloring them during the classes, while I was listening.
The symmetry relaxes me.
And recently I got inspired by a great souldoodle mandala by and the awesome mandala art of
, to try and draw my own mandala for coloring :-)
Thank you for that!
And this is what came out.
As I said in another post (and as you can see in the picture above) I have the most annoying crayons in the world. It's really no fun to paint with them, the colors are pale and patchy, and I just can't get a good result.
So please, if you have children, get them some proper crayons! Not the cheap ones from the supermarket. Otherwise they may loose their fun for painting! I mean it! Those crayons make me angry!
So, I put the photo of the finished mandala into Affinity Photo and played a bit with colors and background.
And (thanks to technology) I got this!
I'm quite satisfied with it. The colors are stronger and the patchiness produces an interesting effect now :-)
Unfortunately I neither have a ruler nor a compass with me, while travelling.
So I used our tea box to draw the outer circle and just my eyes to divide it into eight parts of (approximately) the same size ^^
I already started on a new mandala, I'm really hooked! Such a beautiful and relaxing art form :-)
