Greetings Hiver friends, How are you there? Today I decided to paint a sunset view with acrylic medium. This type of subject is interesting to paint. Several famous artists loved to paint the brilliance of the setting sun. In this post, I will share with you how to paint beautiful sunset scenery over the lake.
I used nine sets of colors of acrylic paint and four types of painting brushes. It took me fifty minutes to finish this painting.
Materials Needed:
π Acrylic paper pad
π Pencil and eraser
π Ruler
π Clean Water
π Rag
π Paper napkin
Brushes:
π Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
π Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
π Round Brush #8 / 5/32" / 4.0mm
π Filbert brush
Acrylic Paint:
π Titanium white
π Ultramarine blue
π Mars black
π Burnt sienna
π Grass green
π Green mid
π Lemon yellow
π Yellow ochre
π Magenta
Painting Process:Outline the painting reference.
Background \Sky: Ultramarine blue, titanium white, lemon yellow, and orange.
Create some clouds and soft light.
Middle ground:
Distant objects: Blue, orange, and black
Brush: Filbert brush
Foreground:
Closer Trees, Mars black and magenta
Round brush in creating the tree trunks.
Put some highlights of blue, white, and some yellow.
Leaves: Grass green, black, and yellow ochre.
Brush: Filbert brush
For the lake, the same colors as the sky, to stand out the lake I put some reflection on it. Specially the light source should be emphasized. I used a flat brush for this part.
Wooden pathway: Burnt sienna, magenta and black. I used a flat brush and for the sharp line a liner brush.
For extra details, I put water lines, water ripples, and also tree limbs.
