Greetings, fellow art enthusiasts! I hope you're all enjoying a wonderful day. This is the latest coffee painting I created today, using coffee powder as my medium. I encourage you to take a look and share your thoughts!
This monochromatic scene features distant mountains, calm waters, autumn trees, and a lone boat.
I used three painting brushes to complete this piece, which took me less than an hour. For those interested in trying this unique medium, follow the step-by-step basic methods below.
Materials Needed:
š Watercolor Paper, sketching Paper, or stretched canvas
š Pencil and Eraser
š Coffee Powder
š 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
š Ruler
š Clean Water
š Rag
š Paper napkin or paper towel
Brushes:
š Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
š Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
š Filbert brush
Note: Keep all the materials ready before you start painting.
Basic Procedure:
⢠Outline or sketch your painting reference.
⢠Paint using a lighter background shade by creating a beautiful texture.
⢠On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
⢠The same procedure as the foreground.
⢠Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
⢠Then add details to bring your painting to life. I used a liner brush for the thin details.
Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.
