Good day, art enthusiasts! I'm thrilled to share a lovely landscape created with coffee powder. This piece was inspired by Kevin Hill's painting. I had a lot of fun doing this. Take a look and let me know your thoughts!
The picturesque winter scenery is an enchanting and stunning landscape scene that enthralls the senses with its breathtaking beauty under the gentle glow of the winter sun. As you look across the landscape, you may see delicate snowflakes gently falling from the sky, adding a sense of mystical beauty. The calmness of the scene is only interrupted by the infrequent sound of a bird chirping in the distance. Overall, Winter scenery is a place of serenity and quietness where nature's beauty is on full magical display.
I used three types of painting brushes for this piece and it took me an hour to finish it. For those who are interested in trying this unique medium, you can follow the basic methods below.
Materials Needed:
š Watercolor Paper or sketching Paper
š Pencil and Eraser
š Coffee Powder
š 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
š Ruler
š Clean Water
š Rag
š Paper napkin or paper towel
Brushes:
š Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
š Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
š Filbert brush
Note: Keep all the materials ready before you start painting.
Basic Procedure:
⢠Outline or sketch your painting reference.
⢠Paint using a lighter shade of the background by creating a beautiful texture.
⢠On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
⢠The same procedure with the foreground.
⢠Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
⢠Then add details to come alive of your painting. I used a liner brush for the thin details.
Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.
