Hi everyone it's me again with my entry for my own art challenge and this is the ~~ Daily Illustration Challenge, so this is now my 6th day of drawing any objects but for this month, my theme is 'home decorations/stuffs'.
And today the object I I chose to draw is ~ a chair. I am excited to share this one because the blending is fine and I am satisfied on how it turned out, unlike my drawing yesterday that I did my best but the color doesn't look attractive.
So let's go and I'm gonna walk you through my art process that started from a sketch into an illustration ~
(I'm putting this first as my blog cover incase I forget to edit the cover image)
- This is my rough sketch and first I drew lines measuring the gaps of of the lengths of each structure such as the legs of the chair, the back and the seat, and those lines will serve as my guide on drawing each elements. So when I drew those guide lines, I first began with the back of the chair and I started it with a square then I transformed that square into a trapezoid. I added another trapezoid and one rectangle for the seat, and four rectangles for the legs.
But I've enlarged the size of the sketch that's why the guide lines looked smaller than the sketch. (I don't what to call it so I'm making up this word ~guide lines~ you know the lines that guide you to draw the structures of an object.)
- And now this is my clean drawing of the outline using a ruler and the Bézier Curve.
- Now let's move on to choosing the brushes and color palette.
So for my brushes I feel like studying blending for watercolor but I still want to use my favourite brush which is the airbrush. So I did both.
And for my color palette, I chose shades of pink and brown for the chair leg.
- Let's dive in first into using a watercolour.
So in my first try I chose to paint with watercolor edge 2 and discovered that you can use watercolor water for blending that goes well with each other.
And this is how it turned out.~~
And the next one is ~~ airbrush.
- So in this art style, I also used two brushes and the first one is penfade and then airbrush trapezoid for blending that goes well with pen fade.
So I made sure to darken the horizon between the back of the chair and the seat as well as the edges because that's where the shadows lie, but I applied lighter color to the surface where the source of light is hitting on.
And the blending has to define the curves of the back of the chair and as well as the appearance of the other other structures.
So this is how it went. I like how it turned out ₍ᐢ. .ᐢ₎ ₊˚⊹♡ ~~
And this is all for today and thank you so much for reading my art blog and supporting me, so until next art blog again!
