It’s Friday! Hope everyone had a great week. It’s time to kick back and relax and enjoy a margarita! I did this little still life oil painting this week and hope it inspires your weekend beverage choice. I really tried to achieve a high degree of contrast between the background and the tumbler using a mixture of alizarin crimson, ultramarine blue and burnt umber to create the almost black background color and added in some yellow ochre and titanium white to lighten it up and gray it out to create the reflection of the glass. I applied titanium white with the sharp end of a palette knife to give the pile of salt on the table and the salt around the rim some raised texture. Hope you like it and enjoy your weekend!
