The adventure of the four began innocently enough
Floating wasn't always Lily's forte
but it seemed neither was holding reality still. If she wasn't careful she'd bend them all into separate instances of different realities.
"Careful, mistress, remember last time" said toad, worried he'd be a clerk at a bank in a stiff suit and tie like last time Lily attempted it.
"I'd have to say I agree," came Pyewacket not happy to be feet above the floor where he was just happily snoozing on his mistresses' soft velvet train.
He recalled being warped into a wild big cat having to chase down one's dinner. Pye much preferred lapping cream from silver bowls and chasing mice for amusement to hunting down things that faught back.
"Well you lot faired better than I," retorted Benjamin, now looking longingly at the warm floorboards, feet below. "At least you returned to your original form, don't forget I was on the verge of asking for LIly's hand.
Poor Benjamin missed his human form quite a bit, but his love for Lily kept him by her side, her protector of sorts; tho he could never protect them from Lily herself.
"Heavens you all worry so", countered Lily, I always get us back in one piece, sort of. I mean maybe not the SAME piece, but one tries...she then noticed Benjamin had disappeared.
"Uh oh," said Lily, "here we go," said Toad".
And off to some adventure they went.
One hopes the 4 aren't stuck in an eternal voyage of coming and going
I hope you liked my silly little story in my head as I sketched this group. I'm hoping to add color next and then decide if I want them as watercolor or a bigger digital oil, we shall see.
Do you think they deserve a color version or do you like them simply as sketches?
I think what I love most about being an artist is this ability to revisit the 'people' who end up being created on the page. They can morph into different stories in my head or simply show up in various guises of color or black and white. I suppose when one spends most of one's days talking to plants, chickens and the sea, characters on paper can take on quiet a life of their own.
Thanks for joining me on this little sketched adventure and I hope you find a moment in your day to indulge in your own passions and remember to always stay creative.
