Hey Y'all!
Today I'm sharing a new painting I made of a landscape after a thunderstorm. The clouds were so pretty that afternoon and all the plants looked extra green from the rain, it was a perfect reference for a painting.

When I started on the first layers, the colors were muted and kind of dull. By the time I made it to the grass section, the colors were much brighter, like super saturated.
For me, one of the hardest things about painting is getting the colors to look right, and I'm still figuring out how to get to a place where my work matches what's in my mind's eye! All part of the process, right 😅
So I used the grayscale filter on my phone's photo editor to see what it would look like with the color intensity turned down a little. I don't love it, I don't hate it, but it does look better in a way.
Another thing to mention is that my goal is to make these 8 x 10 size landscape paintings in two hours or less, and this one was done in 90 minutes.
