Hello to all who enjoy art in all its expressions. Drawing geometric figures is very fun and helps us practice perspective, background, light and shadow. Working with circles, cubes and other shapes that are governed by measurements means that everything has to be in balance, unless we take them as a simple reference for something more abstract.
Me gusta mucho el proceso de dibujar cubos, fue la primera figura geométrica en tres dimensiones que logré dibujar a simple vista cuando era pequeña y luego los dibujaba en todas partes jajaja. Mirando unas revistas vi una foto que me llamó la atención y decidí hacer un dibujo de cubos.
I really like the process of drawing cubes, it was the first three dimensions geometric figure I could draw with the naked eye when I was a child and then I drew them everywhere hahaha. Looking through some magazines I saw a photo that I liked and I decided to draw a picture of cubes.
En mi dibujo hay menos cubos, los hice de diferentes tamaños y les dí un enfoque más multicolor. Utilicé un lápiz y colores. Les muestro el proceso:
In my drawing there are fewer cubes, I made them different sizes and gave them a more multicolored approach. I used a pencil and colored pencils. I show you the process:
Dibujé a lápiz los cubos con la ayuda de una regla, y luego con dos reglas alineadas marqué el fondo o dimensión de cada lado del cubo, es una técnica muy sencilla que aprendí cuando veíamos dibujo técnico en bachillerato.
I drew the cubes in pencil with the help of a ruler, and then with two aligned rulers I marked the bottom of each side of the cube, it's a very simple technique that I learned when we watched technical drawing in high school.
Una vez listos los cubos procedí a definir el color de cada lado, lo hice de colores diferentes para que se viera más llamativo.
Once I had the cubes ready, I proceeded to define the color of each side, I did it in different colors to make it look more striking.
Ahora a colorear los lados, arriba, frente y lados derecho e izquierdo.
Now let's color the sides, top, front and right and left sides.
Momento de poner las sombras, al estar la luz del lado derecho, la sombra se reflejará del lado contrario. No manejo muy bien esta parte de proyectar la sombra así que me guié por ese concepto jajaja.
Time to put the shadows, since the light is on the right side, the shadow will be reflected on the opposite side. I don't handle very well the process of casting the shadows so I followed that concept hahaha.
Coloreé con tonos más oscuros los bordes de los cubos para resaltar la sombra y hacerlos lucir más reales.
I colored the edges of the cubes with darker colors to bring out the shadow and make them look more realistic.

Hay artistas que prefieren lo abstracto, otros que se especializan en los retratos, hay quienes gustan de pintar paisajes, etc. Si bien cada artista tiene sus preferencias al momento de dibujar o crear, creo que es importante practicar un poco de todo, nos ayudará a mejorar nuestras habilidades y también a ir descubriendo nuestro estilo.
There are artists who prefer the abstract, others who specialize in portraits, there are those who like to paint landscapes, etc. Although each artist has their preferences when drawing or creating, I think that it's important to practice a little of everything, it will help us improve our skills and also discover our style.
