Here are a few early examples of my style of wildlife art created from macro photographs of urban details. They are all from 2014 and the base photographs were taken of a variety of urban surfaces around northern Bangkok with Photoshop used to produce the final artwork.
"Rust Oryx" - rusty corrugated metal with three oryx walking across the sands
"Cormorant Cave" - old paint on a block of wood lying around a sports stadium turned into a coastal scene simply by adding a cormorant drying its wings
"Flock of Finches" - flaky paint on a scratched metal oil tank becomes birds hidden in the undergrowth
"Lone Wolf" - a textured detail from some basic wall graffiti becomes an abstract landscape for a wolf to howl
"Pigeon Abstract" - the block pattern within this old re-used sign-board suggested something urban rather than wild so I added a pigeon in flight
"Surf Runner" - sloppy paint on a kerbstone now with a shorebird dodging the surf
"Winter Hares" - old white-washed wooden boards as a winter scene for two hares to hop through
