@Acidyo and I went to a restaurant the other day and I don't know why, but it was my first time to see an Appletini in the menu. XD When it came, he was like "why u taking pics of that too much" and I'm like "cos I'm gonna paint it" lol.
I want to do a color study to refresh and explore some color combinations for my art. I like mainly pinks and greens, but there is something missing still, which is why I'm doing this exercise (aside from the fact that colors are a forever study for me).
I taped the canvas pad on the sketchboard [that I finally have] so it wouldn't warp. I painted the whole canvas with pink just so I don't have to paint over white and I don't know why I've never done that before but it was so much better. :P
I started painting the greens and sort of just built the layers up til I see an opaque color.
I added some teal in the liquid just to have that artsy style and not realistic. XD I find these colors together to be pleasing in the eyes.
I thought of desaturated blue for the glass even though I really liked the purple one already. I added these anyway just to have a nice combo with the purples later. I really like painting technique where I just put the colors on top or beside each other which is why I think acrylic is better suited for my painting than oils.
I added the dark purple as the outline although quite frankly they look a bit more blue than purple. This was taken the next day with the sunlight so the colors are slightly different.
I didn't like the cherry to look quite realistic so I added some oranges to it. I finished it with some random lines in the background. :D
I like the colors in this though ofc next time I will try to add more colors. :D
