Hey everyone, Happy New Year! 🎉
I hope you are all doing great. I have been away for some months now from posting due to my overloaded work schedule. I also started studying fashion design at a college which is something I am really excited about! I learn how to create my own fashion projects and also how to make patterns and sew.
So today I am gonna share with you my first fashion project I created for my class. The project was all about using black and white stripes for our main clothes combined with a satin shirt (black or white) and we were free to isnpired from whatever we wanted. It was kinda tricky for me cause I am not an actual fun of the stripe print so it was a bit challenging for me to create something that I also like.
I got inspired by architecture and especially by the amazing buildings of the architect Zaha Hadid. I collected some photos from the internet to make my collage with things that inspired me. As you can see the bulinds I chose gives you that sense of stripes and also all these beautiful curvess looks like they can hug a woman's body.
( I do not own the photos of the collage, they are taken from different sources of pinterest.)
So I started by making some quick sketches until I reach the two final designs I wanted. The stripe effect should be dominant on the outfits, so I tried to make it look stylish and not be overloaded with many informations.
For my two final outfits I decided to use big flared sleeves and wide leg trousers like the curves of the buildings I inspired by. I created a crop top with wide sleeves that can be weared on the top of the satin shirt, matched with the wide-leg pants. My second outfit is an oversized coat with a big hood and flared sleeves as well, matched with a dress shirt. The fabric I chose is back and white vinyl texture, which I really love.
My first project went pretty good, I received many positive feedback from my teachers and my classmates. I am more than satisfied with myself that I managed to created two striped outfits I liked, despite the fact that I hate most of the stripe prints generally hahah.
That's all folks from me! I hope that you enjoyed my post and my art. If you are interesting in fashion I would love to share any tips with me cause I am new at this field, or if you are just someone who enjoys art your feedback is more than welcome. 😄
