Today I’m excited to share a creative piece made in Adobe Illustrator, where I combined a real portrait photograph with a custom cartoon character designed by me 🖼️➡️🎭
This artwork explores the fusion between reality and imagination, mixing a natural nightlife scene with a playful illustrated universe 🍺🌙💫
✨ The Story Behind This Design:
The inspiration came from seeing a casual moment at a table full of drinks, laughter, and atmosphere. It felt like one of those nights where stories are born 🍻✨
I imagined that inside every fun moment there is another hidden world full of fantasy characters. That idea inspired me to create this mischievous cartoon figure emerging from a cup, as if the party itself had come to life ☕😏
🖊️ Design Process & Professional Techniques:
I started by importing the real image into Illustrator and using it as the photographic base 📷
Then I illustrated the character separately using vector tools and integrated it into the composition.

Pen Tool with Bézier curves for clean outlines and smooth shapes ✒️
Layer management to separate portrait, character, shadows, and highlights 🗂️
Flat color rendering with bold contrast for cartoon impact 🎨

💡 Character Details:
The purple hair, expressive eyes, and playful pose were designed to give attitude and personality 💜
The cup body was inspired by the classic visual style of the video game Cuphead, with vintage cartoon aesthetics and exaggerated facial expression ☕🎮🔥

✨ La Historia Detrás del Diseño:
La inspiración nació al ver un momento casual: una mesa llena de vasos, ambiente relajado y una noche con energía especial 🍻✨
Pensé que en cada momento divertido existe un mundo oculto de fantasía. De ahí surgió la idea de crear este personaje travieso saliendo de una taza, como si la fiesta cobrara vida ☕😏

Primero importé la imagen real en Illustrator y la utilicé como base fotográfica 📷
Luego ilustré el personaje por separado con herramientas vectoriales y lo integré en la composición final.
