hello, I made a clay sculpture, it's been nearly a decade since I made anything (related to human anatomy) from clay and this is my output.
I wanted something else this time and not digital art or painting or sketching. Just to go on a full roundhouse artsy kick I tried sculpting seriously again. Good warm up!
This is the actual size. I just used my hands, no tools. I may have tried to use a nail cutter but it was too thick to make the fine lines so I just used my nails which were thankfully long now.
This is children's clay, quite tough and it's brown clay.
PROCESS
This will look freaky since building it up can be ugly tbh ahahahaha
I was literally cringe mode while I was at this thinking this looks weird but ok haha.
Start with basic shapes and a base.
Add and subtract clay to build up different depths on the anatomy of the face.
The eyes are layered.
Leave the head smaller so you can add layers of clothing or hair strands can build up.
Smoothen marks by softly stroking.
Head covering
And finished!
I added a rose which I remember I always did when I was a child.
These has good remarks from my friends who saw it. I'm glad! I have white clay i may try that but create a male face like one of the Greek statues.
Any suggestions?
Thank you for stopping by!
Have a great day!
