Hello, how are you? So last week I've been trying to force myself to draw even though I am sick, which is a crazy thing to do, but actually it did not take long for me to not continue it, but this week I finally did finish it, I just accidentally saw it while I was organizing my room LOL.
I've been thinking of taking out all my art materials for me to see so that I can inspire myself to do it, The reason why I kept it on a box is to avoid getting dust on it but the not so good effect of it is completely forgotten about it, so yeah, to practice my oil pastel skill I did draw a flowers that I saw online.
Materials I Used:
- Oil Pastels
- 220 gsm Velum Paper
- Scratch Tool
- Reference
Let's Draw!
Let's Draw!
First thing I do is to prepare all the materials I am going to use and place them on the easy access part, which is my dominant hand right side LOL, and then I am going to use oil pastel to draw the line art, which is a bold thing to do LOL.
I draw shapes first to know the proportion of the flowers. After that, I layer the outline with its respective color.
And then I start layering each flower with just the base color, and then add some of the shadows.
And then start to add the black background color, just enough to color the background. I did it so that I can see what is where I should put the shadows and highlights.
It is too late for me to see the wrong reference, so I cover it up. Added more shadows.
Fix the highlight by layering the darker color with the base color or a lighter color.
To add texture, I use this clay tool, which gives the highlights a unique texture.
Close up for the texture.
Thank you for visiting, see you on my next blog. :D
