Hello creatives,it's another beautiful day to get excited about art and today,I will be sharing my latest painting with us titled, "African orchestra", it's done on a canvas measuring 2ft by 2.5 ft using oil colours.
Attending church programmes lately,I have been fascinated with the lightening effects that accompanies the programs and it appears more fascinating when the choir ministers in songs and for that reason,I thought of capturing a moment of their performance on my canvas that appears similar to the Western orchestra, but in this case,it's the "African orchestra"
My subjects are predominantly women and this was deliberate in order to drive home the theme of "movement" in the area of dance and music.
Amidst many other things, the African woman is known for her aristic usage of her body during dance sessions,a time so precious in relating to the music being played with the use of the body.
In essence, one major instrument used in the "African orchestra" performance is the unrestrained and rhtymic body movements of the dancer.
Selah.
As usual,I took some progress shots of the painting, do enjoy.
