I Was looking through my Instagram page and realized almost every painting has yellow and red. It wasn't always intentional but these colors have defined my style. It's true that advice about not trying so much to have a painting style. Just keep drawing and painting, eventually you'll notice you like using certain colors and you have a pattern and rules you made up for yourself. That's how style is born.
So here's my latest painting in ibis paint.
It follows the same idea of using light to illuminate the subject and adding leaves for some interesting play in the background.
I also like how it looks like she's riding a bicycle.
Even my sketches look much nicer when I draw in ibis because of the brushes. I used the coarse texture brush to sketch
And i used that too to paint in the dress. I initially thought I was going to make her wear a Jean dress but as I painted I realized it gave it a fluffy look and so I turner it into a sweater and I love how the highlights stand out.
I'm happy that ibis paint allow me to make sketches that look finished as a piece of their own. Looking forward to using more of that coarse brush texture.
Cheers!
